NEW YORK - Former U.S. presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton will face each other in a no-holds-barred debate in New York early next year, the New York Post reports.
The former presidents will square off at Radio City Music Hall in February as part of a series pitting liberal and conservative thinkers called "Minds That Move The World."
Clinton and Bush, both of whom served two terms in office will engage in an "uncensored, unedited and unpredictable" debate about current events on Feb. 25 at 8 p.m., MSG Entertainment said.
The debate "will be formatted to allow for President Clinton and President Bush to each present their thoughts on a wide range of important current events and national issues through a moderated question and answer period during which the moderator can elicit information and insights into particularly pertinent topics of the day," according to a press release.
It's a hoax. I don't believe that George Bush wants to appear in public and remind us of his eight-year reign of pitiful incompetence and miserable failure.
Moderator: Mr. President Bush, what is your opinion about the Taliban?
GWB: Well, back when they were OK with UNOCAL building a pipeline across Afghanistan they weren't so bad, but after they reneged on letting Cheney's crowd build that pipe line, especially after tens of millions in bribes were paid, well then it became clear that we had to do something about the way that women are treated in Afghanistan.
This coming from the guy that was up in arms about what color lights the Empire State building has.
What in the HELL does that have to do with this subject?

Why don't we just dig up some other former presidents and have them present - is it really going to make any difference what these guys think about current events?

Bush couldn't think his way out of a hallway full of doors - this will be brutal
She's easy to dislike but as sharp as a tack and capable of spinning a yarn (true or false)
I suppose the easy way to go about this is that Bush will get his shit handed to him. What does he have to lose in this though. He is a major underdog against the slick stylings of Clinton to be sure but with both of these guys no longer running for anything and both giving their opinions without that sword hanging over their heads maybe we get a good discussion or at least a more honest discussion of their views. The worst that can happen for Bush is that he gets trounced as we expect but if he comes off looking even close to Clinton then what? I think it's a pretty cool idea myself.

Apparently the promoted kinda overhyped this and made it out to be something it wasnt going to be. I guess it was supposed to be a forum type event not a debate. Anyway it has now been canceled.
