Obama's War on Math

Another President, Another War on something
Linky
We used to hear quite a bit about the Bush administration's supposed 'war on science.'
What about the Obama administration's war on mathematics?
Every time somebody tries to test the logic of the president's economic policy using actual numbers, the White House starts screaming about space aliens.
You think I'm exaggerating? When the automotive consumer researcher Edmunds.com released an economic study last week concluding that the government's cash-for-clunkers giveaway cost taxpayers $24,000 per vehicle sold, the White House accused Edmunds of relying on statistics "covering car sales on Mars." (Who says we don't get bang for our NASA buck?)
The Edmunds study compared historical auto sales trends with sales figures during the recession to conclude that the $3 billion cash-for-clunkers program generated only 125,000 sales that wouldn't have occurred anyway. The Obama administration rebuttal didn't include a single number, just some hopeful rhetoric about (conveniently unmeasurable) "excitement" generated by cash-for-clunkers.
But even that response was a paragon of math wizardry compared to what the White House had to say when ABC reporter Jake Tapper asked about the cost of the jobs the Obama administration claims to have created with its stimulus programs.
This one started when the White House last week issued a report saying that it created or "saved" 640,000 jobs (economists say there's no way to measure the
latter, but never mind), then immediately contradicted itself and said the real number was probably more like 1 million.
Tapper, using the more generous figure, divided the 1 million jobs into the $160 billion allocated by Sept. 30, then asked what seems like a reasonable question:
"Does that mean the stimulus costs taxpayers $160,000 per job?"

Glenn Garvin is a TV critic who's been FORCED several times to correct his articles - so now he write political "opinion" pieces because he's been exposed for printing whatever he "thinks is correct" regardless of the actual factual reports and information...
So what we have here is a Glenn Garvin political opinion piece...
He also claimed to be a Libertarian back when that was popular to do... but now he's back to being a Republican and sometimes he's a Blue Dog...

Yes, even TV critics can see the math sucks on the stimulus bill.
I have a new voting philosophy from now on. I am not going to vote for any politician that can't admit to past mistakes. Looks like I won't be voting for anyone

OBAMA 2012!!!!
"I consider this a mistake on my part, one that I intend to fix and correct and make sure that we're not screwing up again," Obama said. "Ultimately I have to take responsibility for a process that resulted in us not having a (health and human services) secretary at a time when people need relief on their health care costs.
"So this is a mistake -- probably not the first one I'm going to be making in this office, but what I'm absolutely committed to doing is fixing it," he said.

It's easy. Just pick the side you hate and stick with it. I guess I am becoming one of the independants. I hate them all.

That mistake isn't even worth mentioning.
How bout "Stimulus was an excellent idea unfortunately the bill that was drafted was much to costly and ineffective considering the small benefit that has been received".

How about anything of substance.

Ok Cleets he is a writer that you don't respect and I don't know shit about him so I can trust you on that one for the time being. Is what he wrote incorrect however is the thing that is at the crux for me. If you look at that and not what you feel about the guy then what is wrong with it?

Ever hear the joke about the guy who fucks a goat one time...
Forever thereafter he is known as a goat fucker - no matter all the good he's done since...
So Rush Limbaugh last week over the air to some 30 million Americans announces (as though it were a fact) some complete bull-sh!t about Obama... later it's discovered to be complete bull-sh!t...
How does totally bogus completely made-up fictional information become "fact" and get announced to tens of millions of angry people..? When people with zero credibility and a history of making sh!t up get published, that's how...
How does a war based on total fiction get started...?
How do we come to believe that this guy is our enemy and this guy is our friend - when ten years ago is was exactly the opposite..?
My point:
It doesn't even matter anymore what's true - what's correct - what's based on fact... we should just believe what we feel like believing based on any-old-information we feel like...
So this time he's publishing information that has some basis of validity - next time..? and the time after that and then what... I say he's a Goat Fucker because he's been caught Fucking Goats (a lot)
We have lost our way...

I never said he ain't a goat fucker. Fine he fucks goats and if he starts waxing poetic about something then sure I'll question it and try and see if he's telling me a story about making sweet, sweet love to a goat. If it doesn't have the making of another Penthouse Forum story about goats and what he's telling you can be backed up with some simple checking then I'll go ahead and throw that in another category.
If the GF tells you that he overheard your wife talking about offing you and that she had been poisoning you slowly to get rid of you and you have been feeling a bit ill lately then do you just look at him and say "have a good day GF" and walk away shaking your head saying to yourself..."that crazy goat fucker has a pretty wild imagination!"
I just can't believe the way people dismiss anything because it came from a polarizing source. It just doesn't seem as open to information as you always profess to be.

That's what I'm asking Cleets, if someone lies a lot are they precluded from getting anything right in the future? The credibility makes them suspect which makes checking the facts more important but if the facts are correct then did they lie to you?

Correct. And McCain. I'm not the one questioning my own decision-making process. You are....and I would be too, if I'd been stupid enough to vote for that dumb fuck Obama.
