NBC: 7 dead, 12 injured in Fort Hood shooting
No word from the military base whether the victims are military or civilians

At least seven people are dead and 12 wounded in a shooting at Fort Hood in Texas, the base's public affairs office told NBC News on Thursday.

One of my friends from college who just got back from Iraq is stationed there currently... I hope he's ok.

1 person is in custody. They said "in conecction to the event" Didn't say if it was a shooter.

Isn't this the third shooting on the base this year?

The shooting happened "near the soldier readiness processing center, where soldiers cycle through as they prepare to deploy," according to Sgt. Major Jamie Posten from the Fort Hood public affairs office.

ugh......that makes it sound like someone had a problem with deploying.

Now that surprises me....

Just reported on NBC that one of the suspects in custody is an Army Major with an "Arabic sounding name".

If that is true.......than they have infiltrated our military. Why conservatives have not gone after the issue of allowing the free flow of immigrants from the Middle East post 9-11 and while we are at war in that part of the world is beyond me! Instead they go after the Mexicans picking lettuce and strawberries in the fields of So Cal.
