Obama and His Church

received this in an email yesterday
Obama mentioned his church during his appearance with Oprah. It's the Trinity Church of Christ. I found this interesting.
Obama's church:
Please read and go to this church's web site and read what is written there. It is very alarming.
Barack Obama is a member of this church and is running for President of the U.S. If you look at the first page of their web site, you will learn that this congregation has a non-negotiable commitment to Africa.
No where is AMERICA even mentioned. Notice too, what color you will need to be if you should want to join Obama's church... B-L-A-C-K!!!
Doesn't look like his choice of religion has improved much over his (former?) Muslim upbringing.
Are you aware that Obama's middle name is Mohammed? Strip away his looks, the big smile and smooth talk and what do you get? Certainly a racist, as plainly defined by the stated position of his church! And possibly a covert worshiper of the Muslim faith, even
today.
This guy desires to rule over America while his loyalty is totally vested in a Black Africa!
I cannot believe this has not been all over the TV and newspapers.
This is why it is so important to pass this message along to all of
our family & friends.
To think that Obama has even the slightest chance in the run for the presidency, is concerning.

Come on, BA. Quit trying to stir up a pot that isn't there. Many Christian groups have a "non-negotiable" committment to Israel. Nobody says a word about that. If this church is contributing to missions in Africa, I have no problem with that. My own denomination has missionaries on every continent except possibly Antarctica. There's nothing wrong with helping them out.
So his middle name is Mohammed. It's a common name. Not everyone with an Arabic-sounding name is a Moslem. In fact, there's a former Moslem who is the dean of a major Christian seminary. Nobody I know has a problem with that.
Am I going to vote for Obama? No. I'm an Elephant. But I'm not going to go looking for trouble like this just because of some supposed "committment" to another continent or what his name looks like. This is worse than what the press did to Liz Dole during her campaign over her husband's endorsement of Viagra.
There's nothing there, BA. Leave it alone.

So, SH, why the big deal then over Romney's Mormonism?

SH, maybe the edit I made will clear it up for you. Those aren't my words.
But these are: Apparently he smokes about 2 packs a day. If a Republican did that, well, the press would have him squarely in the back pocket of the BIG TOBACCO COMPANIES and belittled for his addiction/weakness.
But, since he's a Democrat, it's NEVER mentioned.

Who said I was making a big deal over Romney being a member of the CJCLDS? I'm not. The very idea that he'd "take orders" from SLC is ludicrous, to say the least. To the best of my knowledge, we've never had an avowed atheist in the White House; they've all been Christians of one persuasion or another. Mormons at least claim the same status, even if other Christians don't accept that. Heck, mainline Christians fought tooth and nail against Pentecostals until recently, and some still do. The point is that, other than possibly Kennedy, this issue has never come up, and it shouldn't now.
I'll grant you the tobacco thing, BA. But if he's willing to compromise his own health, I'm not going to complain, so long as he doesn't do that within my personal breathing space. That addiction doesn't necessarily mean that he's in their pay. In fact, it's likely THEM taking HIS $$. The majority of the press has been left-leaning for decades, anyway. That doesn't surprise me in the least.

I am a Ron Paul fella, but after finding out Obama's platform I may have to reconsider.

I stand corrected....my fault Big App....didn't see your first sentence....and, for the record, I'm no big Obama fan (Ron Paul), but I hate to see total fabrications being spread to discredit candidates....would rather they lose due to their crappy platform.....

Speaking from a distance on this, and from experience, know this:
Obama wins his party's nomination and all this Mohammed stuff will come to the forefront and you will not hear the end of it until November.
Throw in the fact that he is young, admits having enjoyed street drugs, and is not white. Count on it, bank on it, and try to figure out how he can defeat McCain after the smear campaign gets riled up.
Think about this possible advertisement:
Obama has admitted using illegal drugs and associating with street criminals as a young man. He is also born into a Muslim household, and has relatives and friends practicing that religion. Can we trust a drug crazed Muslim taught black man to hold the highest office in our country? Who would you rather have as our Commander In Chief and defender of our nation for the next four years? Barack Obama or John McCain?
Or this one:
Barack Obama has continually stated that he opposes the war on terror being fought by our service men and women in Iraq. In fact, Barack Obama has made it clear that he intends to begin pulling out of Iraq as soon as he takes office, or should we say, cutting and running.
Barack Obama does not care about the sacrifices of our outstanding armed services in their defense of our country, and discounts their sacrifices by suggesting we turn our backs on the Iraqi people, and those of ours who would have then died in vein. What if Barack Mohammad Obama had been our President when our country was viciously attacked by Islamic terrorists on 9/11/2001? What might be the second language of the United States Of America with Barack Mohammad Obama in charge back then?
The consequences are too terrible to comprehend, Barack Obama is too big a gamble for the citizens of our country. Vote John McCain for President
PLEASE NOTE, THESE ARE CREATIVE EXAMPLES OF POSSIBLE SMEAR ADS, and not in any way my personal opinion. I am just making a point as to why I believe Obama is unelectable this year.

Hillary's planning the same cut-and-run tactics. Why is nobody talking about that?

Nobody is talking much about any of this stuff. We know the smearing and half truth campaign awaits on both sides for the beginning of the general election campaign.
I was just attempting to illustrate what barriers are likely to stand in the way of an Obama nomination since he seems to be the media darling and popular choice right now.

they don't HAVE to talk about it. The dirty little secret is, TPTB KNOW that he can't win the South and neither can Hillary (other than Arkansas and maybe West-by God-Virginia).
If you can't win in the South, you ain't winning the White House.
BOTH are unelectable as President of the United States of America.

You don't NEED to win a single state in the South, and still win the White House.
If Gore had won New Hampshire, he'd have won the White House.
If Kerry had won Ohio, he'd have won the White House.
McCain is good that he will do better in the increasingly Democratic West. Huckabee would have lost Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. Hillary or Obama have a great chance still with Colorado and New Mexico.
The only thing that the Democrats need to do is drive home the point that McCain is basically a third term for Bush. McCain supports ALL of Bush's failed policies, from the Quagmire in Iraq, to the failed economic voodoo that Bush has unleashed on us. Once people realize that, they will run away from McCain in droves.
