Does anyone think real unemployment is higher? There are those who can no longer collect or those who take part time jobs....
Mr. Williams has his comparisons of the US official, BLS official and then his own statistics.
According to him the number is around 22% unemployed. I also thought it was interesting the BLS was at nearly 18%.

then you also have the NY Times even going against the grain. They are saying it is actually closer to 17.5%

The Real unemployment has always been higher than the official one. I doubt it is anywhere close to 22% though - because if that was the case, we'd be in a total meltdown.

If you were in banking you'd understand that we ARE in total meltdown.

I think it's always higher than the "official" rate due to those who simply quit looking for work. I think we're easily at 12%+ here "officially", but it's likely much higher (maybe another 5-6 points?) than this.

My brother and I guessed nationally about 15% ...

It must be really bad in other states cause people here are doing fine for the most part. I've had friends get laid off and find new jobs relatively quick.

Those higher numbers are legit for sure, but the number who actually want to work full time is more like the advertised number.
