Super Tuesday
Voted at 7:10 MST in Arizona. Took about 25 minutes.
Didn't decide who to vote for until the last minute.

I was torn - went back and forth on this up to the last minute, so I compromised - voted Clinton, donated to Obama. Either would be fine.MarkCCU wrote:What made you decide to vote for Clinton vice Obama?

Re: Super Tuesday
my wife is being an ass and won't tell me who she voted for. She must have voted for hillary.
I didn't vote because I'm still a registered republican. So Obama wouldn't have been on my primary ballot. I'll vote for him in Nov. though if he beats hillary's ass. If she wins and Mccain runs with Rudy. I might swing that way since the are close to being democrats

Maybe McCain will really throw a twist into things and bring on Leiberman as his VP. I saw Lieberman was at the McCain celebation party.

I honestly wouldn't mind that ticket either....I think that ticket might get 75% of the popular vote.swaghook wrote:Maybe McCain will really throw a twist into things and bring on Leiberman as his VP. I saw Lieberman was at the McCain celebation party.

I wouldn't mind that at all. Joe Leiberman is a childhood friend of my mothers. I've met him several times. It would be cool to know the Vice. McCain-Feingold --- They had the right idea, but compromise legislation usually looks just like this----shitty.
Federal Anti-Gay Marriage---He's spot on here....(although I don't even think its a STATE issue....)
Nutcase Evangelicals----he's spot on here as well....
Funny, because I consider my self a "Reagan" conservative....

John, that's simply your impression from the far left where you sit. I guarantee you, the LARGE majority of moderate Republicans (and we DO make up the majority of the Rep party) can't stand Rush, Hannity, O'Reilley, etc. While he may "speak" for a "percent" of the Republican faithful, I truly don't think it's a "large" percentage....only in the warped minds of the Dem hardliners.dbackjon wrote:Who speaks for a very large percent of the republican faithful.AZGrizFan wrote: I can't believe you made it all the way through a "Rush" hour.... I wish if your assumptions were true, that the moderates would stand up for themselves, and not let policy be dictated by the hard right. Take gay marriage/civil unions. To be elected as a Republican, you HAVE to be against them, even though many like you may support or be indifferent to them.

Re: Super Tuesday
McCain's stance on gay marriage may be as much of a concession as you're going to get from Republicans. The difference between me, and say, Baldy or Blueballs is that while I'm a defense hawk and a fiscal conservative, I'm much more of a social moderate (pro-choice, think the Gov't should stay out of the marriage issue altogether, pro stem-cell research, etc)....That's why it's hard for moderates to "stand up"...much like Donks have to almost sound like socialists or communists to get elected....it's the major thing (in my humble opinon) that's wrong with our current political set up....dbackjon wrote:Far left? The Campaign "reform" legislation I know little about...
Lots of things, like anything to do with marriage, abortion, welfare, unemployment...does belong to the states. The Constitution is VERY CLEAR about what is the responsibility of the federal government. Then, it clearly states that anything not on that list IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STATES!
Evangelicals...lots are nuts...so I can't really argue with McCain on that one either...

Re: Super Tuesday
That's the funny thing about those blowhards, they aren't truly conservative if they are willing to use federal mandates to accomplish social agendas.....like Delay and the rest of those clowns trying to draft legislation to keep from pulling the feeding tube on the invalid a few years ago...completely contrary to what TRUE conservatives believe in.....or even painting the Supreme Court as conservative....the same court who was trying to overrule RI's attempt to use eminent domain for urban renewal projects...I don't agree with the eminent domain argument, but a truly conservative court would have kicked the issue back down to state supreme court as it is a state legislature issue, not something a fedral court should be deciding......mandating eminent domain is unconstitutional is no different than mandating abortion choice on a federal level.....should only be ruling on whether the method being used is consistet with how it is written in that state's costitution, not whther or not they believe the state should do it.......Limbaugh, Hannity...quit insulting us true conservatives with your labels....Col Hogan wrote:And I used the term "Reagan" conservative because that's how Rush and a couple of listeners kept identifying themselves...and saying McCain is not "one of us"...AZGrizFan wrote:
