I really want a good answer. I don't care either way as I have accepted my role in life as being a slave to the grind, a mere number for the pundits in Washington, somebody who has absolutely no role to play in this grandiose drama, so intrigue me.

What IS it about this woman that gripes liberals? I would think, again that's dangerous I know, women would love seeing another woman stand up and be counted in the world of politics? Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm not really liberal, but Sarah seems to be full of it. She was mayor of a town that, she admitted, had no power other than to have meetings and write checks. She was governor and her term was frought with ethics violations. She has all these morals yet couldn't instill them in her kid, but wants to impose them on the rest of the country. And, what else. Oh yeah, she quit her job as governor. She QUIT! She's quit college many times, and even quit that commission prior to being elected governor. She's a professional quitter. Her quittings lead me to believe that she will quit when the Presidency gets too much for her.

When the going gets tough, Sarah gets going.
That's just my opinion.

An equally good question is: Why do some conservatives like her so much?

And I suspect that most liberals would be thrilled if she won the 2012 GOP nomination. She is not electable to the Presidency, there is no way that moderates will vote for her.

It doesn't matter how bad Obama screws up, if he runs against Palin he will be reelected (look what happened in 2004 when the Dems put Kerry against W). Moderates won't vote for a clown, and Palin is a clown.

Agreed. Palin is the conservative John Kerry/Michael Dukakis. If THAT'S what we put up against Obama in 2012, we get exactly what we deserve.

I'm a fiscal conservative, and it frightens me that she appears to be the best the GOP has to offer. I was OK with McCain, but Palin scared me worse than Obama/Biden. It might be time to go after Ron Paul if he's still interested in 2012. I'm going to stop straddling the fence and just go full independent if Palin remains the frontrunner in '12.

I might vote for Ron Paul even if he isn't running.

Ron Paul tied for third behind Mitt Romney and Bobby Jindal in a recent CNN poll of conservatives considered front-runners for the nomination in 2012.

I'm as liberal as they come, but I don't "hate" Sarah Palin. Hate's a toxic word. Just think she's cartoonish and lacking what it takes to lead anything. She's a product of the media. Caribou Barbie.

Can't disagree with you Bill - she's far from credible in her extreme right stances on everything. She needs to embrace the fact that most of the US is within +/- a standard deviation from the center - the outliers tend to not fare very well. She's nice to look at, but I can't deal with that voice/accent.

I just don't think she's very bright. That might just be because she doesn't interview or speak well, but she just appears to be dummer than a bag of hammers.

The breaker for me was when it was revealed that she was charging rape victims for the cost of their own rape kit. That kind of extreme thinking none of us can live with.

I am a fiscal conservative and social liberal. Generally consider myself more of a Liberterian these days.

1- Palin is just plain stupid. The lady has a low IQ and no intillectual curiosity.

2- She is a bible thumper who thinks if the bible says its so it must be true ..see number 1

3- She has little experience (Alaska has 500k people and gets a pile of money from oil taxes, its too easy) and no discernable talent.

The only people that like her are the idiots who vote for republicans because they are pro-religion and anti-abortion etc. She appeals to rednecks and bible thumpers.. if the Republicans put her on the ticket in 2012 they are idiots.

My thoughts exactly.

We need a guy who understands true fiscal conservatism. Steve Forbes has great ideas, but no way he gets elected.

But to answer C-Man's question, liberals hate Palin because she is Republican. The more pertinent question, & one she needs to be concerned with, is why so many moderates (fiscally conservative, socially progressive) factions of the Republican & Independents (like ASUG8, FranksTanks, AZ, myself) can't stand her....were the ones that are going to decide the next election....

Have your party put up a fiscal conservative that is strong on national defense, immigration control (not only from Mexico!!!), and not married to the religious/social conservatives and i will gladly vote for him/her.

IMO liberals hate Palin because she is everything that they would want in a candidate and they feel threatened by her. She is a strong, opinionated woman with a lot of celebrity. And we know how important celebrity is to liberals.
