West Point is the 'enemy camp'
According to MSNBC's Chris Matthews..
Wonder if Mr Matthews felt that tingle running down his leg last night? If he did.. it was probably from him pissing himself and certainly not from the lame Obama speech.
MSNBC
reached a new shameful low tonight when Chris Matthews referred to West Point as an "enemy camp." He was trying to convey his surprise that Barack Obama would go to such a place, somewhere, he said, where Paul Wolfowitz would be more comfortable.

Agreed, Mathews is a blowhard. I'm sure a lot of the cadets aren't fans of Obama, but he is their boss, and I've no doubt they showed him nothing but respect.

Agree....it's disrespectful for Matthews to insinuate that these future professional soldiers cannot set aside their personal feelings to support their CinC. They are bound to do this as Officers through honoring the professional code of ethics for their chosen profession....but then again, Matthews has never had any experience in setting aside personal feelings with regard to honoring the professional code of ethics within his own chosen profession....Grizalltheway wrote:Agreed, Mathews is a blowhard. Calling Journalism a profession is like calling an auto mechanic a heart surgeon...
A profession usually has an oath…a profession has a written code of conduct…a profession usually has some kind of oversight organization that issues a license or certifies a person competent to perform their job...and usually there is some sort of training or educational requirement...
Barbers, while they don’t take an oath, do have to have certain training and do have to obtain a license...
Lawyers adhere to a oath (don’t laugh right away), have a written code of conduct…and must pass a test and obtain a license…and there is an oversight board...
Military personnel take an oath…have a written, legally binding code of conduct…and Congress acts as the oversight board…the President issues commissions for officers…
Journalists…do none of those things…anyone can call themselves a journalist…there is no code of conduct that is binding…there is no oversight, except by their editors who care about the bottom line…there is no training or educational requirement
Journalism is not a profession…it’s a job…

And it's people like Matthews who not only perpetuate this sentiment, but vindicate it as well.....Col Hogan wrote:Appaholic wrote: Matthews has never had any experience in setting aside personal feelings with regard to honoring the professional code of ethics within his own chosen profession....

I take a slightly different tack here.
Yes, West Point IS the enemy camp. When you like Annapolis, that is.
ROFL.
