I guess the Bible is not conservative enough

CHARLESTON, West Virginia - The Gospel of Luke records that, as he was dying on the cross, Jesus showed his boundless mercy by praying for his killers this way: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."
Not so fast, say contributors to the Conservative Bible Project.
The project, an online effort to create a Bible suitable for contemporary conservative sensibilities, claims Jesus' quote is a disputed addition abetted by liberal biblical scholars, even if it appears in some form in almost every translation of the Bible.
The project's authors argue that contemporary scholars have inserted liberal views and ahistorical passages into the Bible, turning Jesus into little more than a well-meaning social worker with a store of watered-down platitudes.
"Professors are the most liberal group of people in the world, and it's professors who are doing the popular modern translations of the Bible," said Andy Schlafly, founder of Conservapedia.com, the project's online home.

Oh - and THIS IS YOUR REPUBLICAN PARTY. All probably have Sarah "I can't tell the difference between John Wooden and John Wooden Legs" Palin bumper stickers on their cars.

The key phrase in the entire article is "
create a Bible".
Should resonate with board Jesus freaks, as this current desire to "create a Bible" has been what's happening since about 200 CE, when third and fourth parties to Biblical tales started "creating a Bible". In teh bloody aftermath, hundreds or thousands of attempts have been made to "create a Bible".
My point? It's all
manufactured nonsense.

Sounds like they've finally caught on to the fact that Jesus was really just the son of a single parent, birkenstock wearing, progressive, big government, anti business, humanist, liberal, hippie.
Roosevelt and Ike, there's no room for that nonsence in today's Republican Party.

The bible is a book...
It's always been a book - a book written by men
Jesus / Siddhattha Gotama / Shri Madhavnath Maharaj...
These are enlightened men - I believe in their teachings
and most people if they took the time would also
They did not quote others scripture at people as some proof of divinity, they did not sit in judgment, they did not hate and fear the world
Any re-write of the bible will simply be a reflection of the most present neurosis engulfing the terrified small minds of people who fear change fear life and fear the world as it is...

Shit, Pope Joe likes it to.
Ah, the memories of that young punk defending the bible....Now, thanks to the education receieved here, he'll dismiss it with atheistic vigor as the crock of shit it is.
People can change.
