Did you watch them on TV? I would say that the majority are retired, business owners, housewives.

Also, unlike the truly useless left wing nuts who schedule such rallies and protests during the work week, many of the tea party events were on weekends or holidays.

You mean nuts have difficulty accepting they are nuts? Who'd a thunk?

And if I'm not mistaken, the 41% represents an approval rating not people who have neccessarily "aligned" themselves with the tea party.

The problem for the Tea Party is it has no candidates or an established platform beyond we are pissed off at the low hanging fruit. But as wedge has pointed out a couple of times, I'm quite sure the insurance companies are pleased with the tea bag efforts, and the banks probably are as well.

Quick question, if we only socialized health insurance and left manufacturing and the service side of the industry private would it still be considered socialized medicine?

Tea baggers are just a fad, they are all good conks and will line up lock-step come the primaries and general election of 2010. Dems will lose seats in congress, but there will be no emergence of a legit 3rd party. They are just rabble rousing to get attention and feel relevent now that W is gone.
