Chizz, you may have hit on something brilliant.

I had a mental image of all the members of Congress, stranded on a deserted island in the South Pacific. The Republicans have all the drinkable water, and the Democrats have all the food. They have segregated themselves according to politics and live on opposite sides of the island. The bloodthirsty part of me envisions the inevitable bloodbath as they all fight each other a la Lord of the Flies, but alas... none of them are smart enough to even figure out how to find the other group, so they all eventually just waste away and die while trying to decide whether or not to fund a bridge back to California.
