Pennsylvania's slots casinos hit the jackpot Wednesday when the Legislature gave them the authority to install table games such as poker and blackjack.

A 103-89 House vote sent the bill to Gov. Ed Rendell, whose staff said he would sign it, likely on Thursday.

Larger casinos will be allowed 250 tables for the new games, while the smaller resorts casinos can have 50. State gambling regulators said it may be more than six months before table games are up and running.
The Sands made the right bet with their Bethlahem casino.

Nothing like a state budget crunch to change the opinion of gambling held by both holier-than-thou republicans and nanny-state, social-justice crusader democrats.

That just about sums it up for Chester, or "Little Camden" as we like to call it. :coffee:

Point taken, but at least AC has a boardwalk.

See you in Harrington after the table games open there. 8-)

And I had a con law professor (when talking about the toxic dump cases) refer to Camden as "it's like Beirut without the beaches."

Quick tangent:

I was visiting my in-laws in Pt Pleasant NJ a few years back. On the way back on Rt 70, there was a guy in a ricer passing entire lines of cars on the right shoulder and thankfully, a cop pulled him over just past one of the traffic circles. I pulled up behind the cop and waited for him to do his business and then waved to get his attention and mentioned that I witnessed the guy passing people on the right shoulder. The cop was thankful for the tip and wanted my contact info as a potential witness. I started giving him my info:

Name
Street
Camden (the cop raises his eyebrow and looks at me)
Delaware (cop says "Oh! OK")

We both chuckle.
