What could have been?

So now that we all seemingly hate Obama and it's the Democrats turn to get blamed for a crappy congress, here's a couple of what if's:

What if McCain had won?

Or

What if Obama had won but the Republicans had retained at least one if not both houses of congress?

How would things be different.

Economy would be worse. Probably invaded Venzuela. Would have sold out more environmental legislation.

I don't think it would have been any better than it is now.

I'm not so sure this election is a world changer. The economic cycle was going to happen regardless and the recovery was going to be just as slow, even if for different reasons.

The 2012 election on the other hand could be one for the ages.

If Republicans had at least retained control of one of the houses I would hope we wouldn't have saddled the country with hundreds of billions of dollars in commitments with the bailouts/stimulus/healthcare bills that have been ramrodded through....

That's probably too much to ask, though.

Hmmm... perhaps I should plan that trip to Aruba or Curacao, front row seats for the nuclear explosion in Caracas!

The system was actually DESIGNED to operate that way by the founding fathers. They never intended for one party to have ALL the power. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

Stil scratching my head at the assertion that we would have invaded Venzuela.

Maybe I don't understand because I removed my tinfoil beanie.

I'm still scratching my head over invading Iraq instead of Venezuela after 9/11. Why go half way around the world to grab somebody's oil when your next door neighbor has a nice stash of his own and his country could be taken in an afternoon by the pool team from any neighborhood tavern?
