WASHINGTON - Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani set off a tempest about terrorism Friday with his claim that this nation "had no domestic attacks" under President George W. Bush.
The Republican said of Obama on ABC's "Good Morning America" that "what he should be doing is following the right things that Bush did."
"We had no domestic attacks under Bush," Giuliani said. "We've had one under Obama"
That statement set off waves of protest in the blogosphere. And it echoed a recent claim by former Bush press secretary Dana Perino. GOP strategist Mary Matalin also recently said the Bush administration "inherited the most tragic attack on our soil in our nation's history," implying that the 9/11 attacks resulted from mistakes by the Clinton administration. http://news.aol.com/article/giuliani-ob ... -on/846810
Isn't Matalin using basically the same argument that Reps are chastising Obama for regarding economy? And, if there were no domestic attacks under Bush, then what has Guiliani been running on for the past 9 years?
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." - Goebbels

He may look (and act) that way now, but the guy did some amazing things in NYC during his mayoral tenure.

Agree. I was impressed with him during that time as well. It's his continuing reliance upon those same scare tactics, his rabid partisanship affecting his credibility, his penchant for being a media whore & his apparant lack of integrity in his personal relationships while extolling the Family Values mantra of his party since that time that has brought to my current conclusion...

Agreed. He should have followed the same plan as Bloomberg and gone Indy. It would have been a really good opportunity for a legitimate 3rd party.
Instead he hitched his wagon to the Republicans. Stupid.

The Bush administration presided over the deadliest terrorist attack in U.S. history and after the previous administration and intelligence agencies warned them of the threat.
George Bush, worst anti-terrorist president in history.

Yup, just finished up Ghost Wars (great book), and although the Clinton admin had chances to take bin Laden out (albeit under very tricky circumstances), the apathy shown towards the obvious threat from al Qaeda by the Bush Admin shortly after they took office was borderline criminal. Reviving Star Wars was of much greater importance to them.

No, that can't be it. Both Stewart and Colbert are too old to be considered yuppies.

Yuppies are typically in their 20's and early 30's. Stewart is 47.
When someone says oak tree, do you automatically think acorn?
