The first-term Democrat had been considered a rising star among his party.

Yes, they do, but they do it with class, instead of hitting the bathroom stalls :D

It just shows that all politicians are the same. Doesn't matter if they have a D or R behind their name.

Is "doing it with class" the new buzzword for fiscal irresponsibility?

give him some credit. at least the chick was h-o-t!

This should be a lesson to all wives. Give up the goods a little more often to your man, he won't need to run around on you.

At the risk of starting WW III, sometimes it isn't about a wife withholding. When people work high stress jobs (doctors, lawyers, medical personnel, firefighters, law enforcement, military, etc...), often work schedules prohibit regular, consistent time with their spouse or sexual partner. Add to that the physical and mental exhaustion working in a Hi Stress job, and when couples DO get time together, they're too tired to do anything. Add to THOSE TWO, working in a job that require travel.
(Being a traveler myself, I can attest that being away from your spouse on a regular or prolonged basis is deadly for a marriage - contributed to my 2nd divorce). The reasons go on and on.
Anyway, infidelity is not excusable, however, withholding of sex is not the only (if even the principal) reason for people to cheat on their spouse. I've known many friends who match the above conditions, and every one of them ended up divorced.

I will say this...if Spitzer's impetus was indeed purely for physical gratification (not "companionship" which some cheaters are actually seeking), then he should have talked and worked it out with his wife. If he genuinely had tried, and it truly was a case of the wife withholding sex for non-medical reasons, then I will conceed the wife shares responsiblity.

So in the case of Eliot, he was too damn busy to schedule sex with his wife so instead, he schedules and pays for a woman to take a train, a bus, get a key, and meet him in his room? C'mon, every guy has 3-5 minutes to spare. If he can't take the time to spend quality time with his wife, then his schedule needs major tweaking.

The question (for both) is WHAT COMES FIRST...CAREER OR FAMILY?

They will say Family...then proceed to allow the career to destroy/damage/get in the way of the family...

I came close at one time...thank goodness I came to my senses and realized I had to change...

Now, it's family first...everything else is secondary...

You guys seem to be missing the point.......you don't pay the hooker for sex....you pay her to fuck you and leave when you're done........someone mentioned every person "has 3-5 mins to spare" to spend with your wife.....well, if it only took 3-5 minutes to get the wife in bed, no man would cheat.....however, you usually have to listen to a dissertation on how the day has gone, how fat they feel, how the sister is doing this, blah, blah, blah, blah......you know, like a wife wants the trash taken out without argument or no discussion on the lifting the commode lid, sometimes a man just wants a blow-job while he's watching sports.......

Selective hearing. When she starts to talk about something like that. "Yes dear" or "I'll work on that" always seems to work for me. You do have to repeat the problem in your pledge to try harder...if she's going on and on about shoes, tune her out until she asks you a question, then ask what her girlfriends would say. You know your woman...
