Slightly surprised that the Republicans are sitting down but amazed that many of the Dems are sitting on their hands, too!

I hate the forced standing ovations by the president's party. Hated it when the Republicans stood for Bush, hate it now when Democrats stand for Obama.

Convention speeches, Inauguration speeches, SOTUs, I never watch them anymore, Conk or Donk. Haven't in years. All they are is generalities, platitudes, fluff, hot air, etc. I want specifics and details. And you won't get it from these staged dog and pony shows, so why watch? Its a waste of time. Save yourself some time and just read about the highlights later.

Agree 100%. I'm just posting happily on cs.com and ignoring The Great One's prefabricated shit.

Surprisingly enough they haven't shown her in the last 15 minutes (that's all I've watched).

I have NEVER heard a president speak who SO hates business in America.
It is truly frightening to listen to this guy speak.

WTF? Eliminating capital gains taxes for small businesses means he hates them?

We'll see what Barry Sortero means by "small." Probably GATW's lemonade stand.

That was one hell of a long winded marathon with some nuggets but lots of meaningless rah-rah. Did you see Harry Reid yawning in the first ten minutes?

If they sell capital assets then yes, they pay capital gains tax just like the rest of us.
Also, so many small businesses in the US are LLC's now, which are disregarded for Federal Income tax purposes. So their owners pay personal income tax on the business earnings, which does include capital gains tax.
Real small business tax reform needs to come in the form of personal income tax reform and it needs to start on the state level in a lot of states.
