Emanuel is an embarassment to all the retarded folks in the world.UNHWildCats wrote:he referred to some liberal groups who oppose the health care bill as "fucking retarded"Col Hogan wrote:

That's sad...what a shame. Good for you though, well done.UNHWildCats wrote:he referred to some liberal groups who oppose the health care bill as "**** retarded"Col Hogan wrote:

What's odd is that utterance even got out to the mainstream media. Wasn't that in a closed door meeting with some liberal groups? And it just gave the right and the Sarah Palins of the world a chance to score some political points.UNHWildCats wrote:he referred to some liberal groups who oppose the health care bill as "**** retarded"Col Hogan wrote:

And Emmanuel is probably the person most responsible for the majority that the Democrat's have in Congress. He was instrumental in establishing strategy, identifying targets and selecting moderate candidates with the best chance of beating Republicans. He may be course but he is a shrewd politician.GannonFan wrote:What's odd is that utterance even got out to the mainstream media. Wasn't that in a closed door meeting with some liberal groups? Kinda makes you think, correctly, that the biggest problem Emmanuel has is with the more left-leaning groups that don't feel like they're getting enough out of the Obama Presidency. Considering how the Dems lost Massachusetts, caving into that pressure may not be the wisest course of action.
Longterm? Heck, November is only 10 months away now, and considering that it's almost impossible for unemployment to come back under 10% between now and then, longterm is getting closer and closer.UNI88 wrote: It would appear that the far left would like to get as much of their agenda as they can now and not give a damn about the longterm consequences.

November 2010 isn't longterm.GannonFan wrote: Longterm? Heck, November is only 10 months away now, and considering that it's almost impossible for unemployment to come back under 10% between now and then, longterm is getting closer and closer.

Obama had better hang on to him. Rahm's the only guy in that cabinet with any really significant political experience. Once Rahm goes they will truly be without a clue.AZGrizFan wrote:Emanuel is an embarassment to all the retarded folks in the world.UNHWildCats wrote: he referred to some liberal groups who oppose the health care bill as "**** retarded"
Hey...not bad for a closet control freak!kalm wrote:Barack: I'm not so sure it was a good idea referring to some liberal groups as **** retarded.![]()
Rahm: **** 'em Barry. It's a two party system, who else are the socialist hippies going to vote for, Ralph Nader?![]()

Barack: Well maybe, but it was only last spring that a majority of the American people supported single payer or a public option, and those type of programs seem to keep the rest of the world's health care costs below ours.![]()
Rahm: How many times do I have to remind you I'm not one of your googly eyed, sappy sycophants. Spare me the commie pontificating, Franklin. The majority of Americans didn't get you and Max Baucus elected. To steal from Randy Moss, elections are about the "straight cash homey"?![]()
Barack: That sounds funny coming from a jew, are you trying to raise your street cred with me or something?![]()
Rahm: No, I'm triangulating. Governance is not about making the best decisions for the American people, it's about making the best decisions that will get you re-elected. Do you think Clinton won re-election with Monica on the side because he was really good at multi-tasking?![]()
Barack: But what about the mid-terms, we're already losing some seats?![]()
Rahm: Relax. It's expected during the first mid-term. Besides it will further cull the Democratic herd of the weak, soft, do-gooder leftists.![]()
Barack: But isn't that our base?![]()
Rahm:Did you not learn anything from Citzens United? Goldman Sachs and United Health Care are now your base.
Republicans have a decent chance to take the house. Charlie Cook has it at 50-50, and he's one of the top political handicappers in the country. That's why much of Washington, Republican and Democrat, pays $295 for a yearly subscription to his political report.UNI88 wrote:Maybe they're getting desperate?GannonFan wrote:

Seriously, after the November elections, Obama will still be POTUS and they will still likely have a majority in both houses. They just won't has as much of a majority and will really have to work with the Republicans to move legislation. If they're willing and able to work with moderate Republicans on compromises the ultra-conservatives are going to end up looking like obstructionists and it will hurt their chances in 2012. Legislation with true bipartisan input is usually better legislation. This isn't the end of the new world order that many of the talking heads want people to think it is.
Coincedentally, I've used the exact same terminology to refer to those who support the health care bill.UNHWildCats wrote:he referred to some liberal groups who oppose the health care bill as "**** retarded"Col Hogan wrote:
