all I got to say is bring it...we may be stuck in 2 wars but if they're dumb enough to attack us and warn us about it before hand they deserve to get nuked

The sort of restrictions that make us look weak in the eyes of Al Qaeda. I know it isn't possible, but we should have paved Iraq and Afghanistan over with massive firepower and then wielded an iron fist. It is the only thing the Middle East understands.

I agree - when it comes to military, airline security, development of cutting edge technology, etc. there aren't many countries as resourceful as Israel. They don't take any crap out of anyone. Of course, when nearly all your immediate neighbors have guns pointed at you 24/7 it probably helps to stay frosty.

I think we killed enough civilians as it is, even when trying very hard not to.

As far as "the only thing the middle east understands..", that's also drivel. They'd understand something else real fast if we weren't buying their oil. For a scientist, your thinking sticks remarkably close to the beaten path, the same beaten path that's always left us beholden to people like the Bushes and their Saudi business partners, the bin Ladens. What is the best estimate, then?

I'm less concerned with the 100,000 figure than the claim that they were all caused by the US. Sure, we've killed some civilians. That's what war is all about. But so has Al Qaeda, other outside Arabic resistance, and (probably the biggest source) Iraqi Sunnis and Shias fighting each other.
