Free condoms, packaged to show the connection between human overpopulation and threats to biodiversity, are the Center for Biological Diversity's Valentine's gift to Americans.

Starting on Valentine's Day, 3,000 volunteers working in all 50 states, will distribute 100,000 free Endangered Species Condoms with original artwork and slogans that urge men to use them to help save six species federally listed as threatened or endangered.

Three of the condom packages feature the polar bear with the message, "Wrap with care, save the polar bear;" the jaguar, with the slogan, "Wear a jimmy hat, save the big cat;" and the American burying beetle, with the line, "Cover your tweedle, save the burying beetle."

The other three condom packages feature a fish known as the snail darter, with the message, "Hump smarter, save the snail darter," the rare Puerto Rico rock frog, coqui guajon, with the line, "Use a stopper, save the hopper;" and the spotted owl, with the slogan, "Wear a condom now, save the spotted owl."

Way to contribute to more pollution to further harm these species.

Not a bad idea. Overpopulation is a HUGE problem on many levels.

Fu*k the minorities I am only worried about the gay community.

They are flamboyant, proud and make the best signs at protest rallys.

Actually, that's not targetting them at all. Since gay sex doesn't contribute to the overpopulation problem at all, regardless of condom use.

Not exactly. Condoms reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS. So, while condoms may prevent pregancy they also may prevent fatal diseases.

But I agree, I don't think this is targeting the gay community.

Of course. But the quotes on these particular condoms are about using the rubbers to help reduce overpopulation, which does not apply to their use in gay sex. Though of course, they are still free to use those condoms, even if they aren't actually part of the target demographic.
