Hawaii had had government health care for 40+ years. The RNC had a convention there to show the poor Hawaiians there how bad they got it.

The Hawaii part is after the "trap" bit.

If Rush only knew how close he was to suffering death at the evil hands of the Hawaiin healthcare system.

That's not to say the Dem's haven't made a mess of heatlh care legislation.

Just goes to show how corupt our system of government is. :coffee:

Typical Colbert bait-and-switch. Article says "government-RUN healthcare", then the story is about government-MANDATED healthcare.

BIG, HUGE, MONUMENTAL difference.

The ONLY difference between Hawaii's requirements and most other states is they require healthcare be provided for anyone working over 20 hours a week....in most states it's only for full-time employees.

Not in Washington. We have no mandate.

BTW, it wasn't Colbert.

Also, has it bankrupted Hawaii or created a reduction in care? Are their costs any greater than other states?

What they have is NOT government-RUN healthcare. Period. And THEIR plan hasn't bankrupted Hawaii....but Obama's plan would, very quickly.

Leave it to AZ to get all butt-hurt about a comedy bit.

Here's a NY Times article about Hawaiian Health Care.
