Long a fixture among young people, use of the country's most popular illicit drug is now growing among the AARP set, as the massive generation of baby boomers who came of age in the 1960s and '70s grows older.
The number of people age 50 and older reporting marijuana use in the prior year went up from 1.9 percent to 2.9 percent from 2002 to 2008, according to surveys from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

The short history of America is that each generation was a little better off than the last. This trend was finally bucked with the current generation, the generation after the boomers, whatever you want to call us. Baby boomers are the last generation of Americans that were better off than their parents (on a macro-scale). If that makes you jealous, then so be it. I don't get too hung up on it.

So wouldn't that in turn make them the worst generation?

That's part of the reason why they're the worst. Only part.

So we're already determining that today's 20-40 year olds are "worthless"??? Wow.......tough crowd.
Good thing we waited longer to judge the Boomers......imagine if we had already labeled them failures back in the 60s and 70s..........

And why is that? Because pussy ass parents didn't want to be like their parents. They wanted to be a friend, not a parent. Pussy ass parents spawned spoiled rotten brats.

Almost 43. I'm between Boomers and GenX. I'm the Brady Bunch Generation.
I think Mrs89 ('64) is the last of the Boomers.

Yes they did. And made it incredibly difficult for those who wanted to raise our kids the old fashioned way. I hope they are all having fun living together again.

I agree. My parents were parents. I remember hating my father and cursing his name. But now, I was a dumb kid and my father has become my friend.

1) Baby Boomers:
In general, baby boomers are associated with a rejection or redefinition of traditional values; however, many commentators have disputed the extent of that rejection, noting the widespread continuity of values with older and younger generations. In Europe and North America boomers are widely associated with privilege, as many grew up in a time of affluence.[1] As a group, they were the healthiest, and wealthiest generation to that time, and amongst the first to grow up genuinely expecting the world to improve with time.
2) Generation X:
a generation of teenagers who "sleep together before they are married, were not taught to believe in God as 'much', ....., and don't respect parents. members tend to be pragmatic and perceptive, savvy but amoral, more focused on money than on art.
3) Generation We
http://www.gen-we.com/
Selfish, idealistic, bastards who accept mantra's of "hope and change" as substantive utterances of realistic policy. Gen-we is advertised as progressive thinking youth capable of changing the world from the pragmatism of reality to a utopia of shared prosperity. The joke is on them. When they finally pull their collective (sic) heads out, they will find themselves mired in morass of shared poverty without the resources to return to the reality of their parents. Fucking idiots.
Don't believe me? check out the endorsements on the linked website.
Still don't believe me? Ask a member of Gen We.....you'll find them standing in line outside of the unemployment office.

There is no "tweener" (figures that YOU would try and make something up to benefit yourself though
) If you were born 1961 to 1981.......you are in Gen X (although personally, I think that it is more like 1965 and later).

Not sure I agree with the boldface.
I think that Gen Xers are adaptable more than anything........and also less idealistic then both generations in front of them and behind them. I think that many also yearn for a simpler life than they've witnessed their Boomer parents go through and tend to seek help and advice from their friends or even strangers as much as they do from their parents/families.

In all fairness, the Baby Boomers just happened to be the generation to experience an explosion of personal wealth not seen before.
