HELENA - Montana's top wildlife official acknowledged Friday that the state has too many wolves on the landscape, so he's implementing a new strategy that will allow problem wolves to be killed more quickly by federal agents.
In a hearing before the Environmental Quality Council, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks director Joe Maurier said federal Wildlife Services agents no longer need FWP authorization to kill wolves at or near confirmed livestock depredation sites.

The petitions and the high volume of calls have finally sunk into these brain dead folks that "manage" the woods in Montana.

I don't have a problem with this. Makes sense to protect your property. Find it ridiculous that FWP agents actually had to wait for approval to do it. Maybe I'm missing something, but a person should be allowed to protect his property on his property or lawfully leased public property within reason.....& certainly FWP agents should be allowed to make the call in the field.

Sad thing is, is that without everyone on board, as well as using traps, the fight is already almost over. The big game seasons in MT,ID,WY are going to be on the way side for many many years because of this INTENTIONAL fuck-up. So don't be waiting up for them to come your way.

I'll take some if that's the case. They tried to re-introduce red wolves in NC, but it didn't work in the Smokies. Supposedly more sucessful down east in Dismal Swamp, where, if they migrate far enough north to NC, they would likly be located...hope you're right in that case.

I DO! I hope your state gets them some Gray Wolves and so you can see first hand. I really really do. I hope you get a whole mess of them and they just run rampant across the countryside.

Fines and F&G are not a big enough deterrent, I kill any wolf I see anytime of year.
Still doesnt matter they have knocked down our elk herd from around 900 to less than 200 and next year we may not get to hunt in our district.
I guess they dont want the wolves to have any competition while they finish off the herd.

But AG1, "the elk and deer herds were just too large and they were starving all the time, the wolves are doing lots of good out there..." from a tree-hugger fucking cunt.
My question to her, " well if they were so large and out of control, why not issue more tags for hunters? Why not let hunting season go a couple weeks longer?"
Shut that bitch right the fuck up.

I would think that wolves would easy (and fun) to kill if their pack behavior is anything like feral dogs.
When I was a kid, my Dad would hear a pack of wild dogs running down on the farm, and he'd grab the rifle and we'd head out. We usually perched in a field that was humped in the middle, giving us a pretty good view of about a 50 acre area surrounded by the forest that makes up most of our farm. Eventually, a wild dog would come out of the woods, usually chasing a deer. Dad would drop the dog, and then we'd just sit and wait. After a few minutes, another dog would come out of the woods and sniff the dead one. He'd get dropped, too. This scenario would repeat itself until we'd have a pile of dead dogs. One time we shot 7. They were all lying on top of each other. Stupid pack behavior.

She is stupid, most prowolf people want the wolves to control the herds not hunters, that takes hunters out of the equation and that is their ultimate goal.

Doubtful. If the wolves were that dumb there'd be more elk.

And you know all this from Egypt?
There were packs of wolves in Montana before they were "reintroduced". In the early 80's we saw sign all over the Little Belt Mountains. The F&G assured us we were seeing coyotes and not wolves. Which proved to me when I was 12 they dont know the difference.
There are way more wolves than the F&G know about, they are just another inept government agency and they are just guessing from behind a desk.
There are way less elk and deer populations than the F&G knows about, they are just another inept government agency and they are guessing from behind a desk.
The wolf population in SW Montana is being taken care of and dealt with.

Yeah, F&G tells us there are no cougars here, too.
