Sarah Palin's family used to "hustle" across the Canadian border to get healthcare, the former Alaska governor said this weekend.

In a speech in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Palin called it "ironic" that while growing up in a small Alaskan town near the Canadian border, her family used to sneak across the border to take advantage of the Canadian healthcare system.

"We used to hustle over the border for healthcare we received in Canada," she said, according to Medicine Hat News (via Dave Weigel.) "And I think now, 'Isn't that ironic?' "

To be fair, she was talking about when she was a young child and her family lived in a remote area just over the border and the Canadian medical places were far closer to them.

Palin is a hypocrite because she praises Canadian health care when speaking in front of a Canadian audience, but she trash talks "socialized" health care when she speaks to US audiences.

Because Canada sends all their comedians to the US - it was the right thing to send them one of ours.
