The oddest thing about that USA Today article/series was that Wednesday's article, in the series weekly summary, has the subject heading: Acting locally - how baseball should prioritize domestic, rather than global, initiatives....and yet Wednesday's article has the lead: Panel Part III: Efforts to develop black talent in USA insufficient. Only further down in the article, almost as an after thought, did they deviate from the focus on just black players and talk about things impacting all Americans who want to play baseball.

The focus on the "black" issue, with the implication that owners are racists, distracted the reader from the real point that needed to be made...the sport is dying and it needs more support at the local and college level in order to survive.

Baseball needs more Asians, whites, and Dominicans to make things fair and equal. There should be a quota system in MLB and the NFL.
