ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Authorities were in an Alaska Peninsula village this week investigating whether a 32-year-old schoolteacher, found dead off a road leading out of town, was killed in a wolf attack, according to state and local officials.

The body of Candice Berner of Slippery Rock, Pa., was discovered Monday evening off a roughly 7-mile gravel road leading to the Chignik Lake airstrip.

Berner’s father, Bob Berner, reached in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night, said Alaska State Troopers told the family their daughter had been killed in an “animal attack, possibly a wolf attack.” Troopers told him it was highly unusual and still under investigation, with the body on its way to Anchorage for an autopsy, he said.

so what you posted says it may have been a wolf, but you felt comfortable enough making it fact in your thread title. :thumb:

In a similar story, another jackass from back east dies while experiencing oneness with nature in Alaska.

Benne!!!!! Glad you are here. I have been meaning to stop by your site since last night. I really don't mean/want to bring up a really bad experience but I think there are many many that could use your guidance on the matter.

Weber St. blew a 20 point lead in the second half to lose to the Griz Basketball team last night for a trip to the Big Dance. I am sure they are all contemplating shotguns and mouths, driving off bridges, drinking drain cleaner...etc and I am sure they need some of your advice. Being that you experienced it first hand during football season. This is in no means a jab or smack. I am truly worried about their fans and am wondering if you are available to do some pro-bono suicide counciling?

Those are some of my favorite bedtime stories.

"Into The Wild" should have won an academy award for portrayal of a lovable but none the less dumb victim of the wilderness.

 "highly unusual" in this case meaning "first documented". Probably a bear. :coffee:

When I saw the title I thought that maybe the teacher was that dumb squat in Montana who forgot he loaded his muzzle loader at school.

The important fact here is that the gravel road was 7 miles long. Roughly. :coffee:

I'm sure that if it was a bear, grizzaholic will let us know and will also apologize to the alaskan wolf population for falsely accusing them.

I've never called an geographical entire section of the country "jackasses".

I don't know if the deceased was a jackass or not, but just because she's from the east, doesn't make her one.

If you were really following his lead, the thread would have titled "Gay Wolf kills teacher" or "Wolf kills teacher for being gay".

Fair enough, I'll rephrase, "A jackass from back east, " as opposed to "another jackass from back east."
