Have we had enough yet?

While I have a blast on here sniping at each other talking about politics, I have become so weary of the current situation in America, and I am not talking about Conk vs Donk.

I am sick and tired of all the freeloading motherfuckers out there who are looking for a free handout.

What needs to be done? Seriously, where do we draw the line? I am all for helping those that need help, but we have an epidemic of people who milk the system.

America needs to be selfish. We need to stop helping other countries by giving them money, until we get our affairs in order. I wouldn't give anyone money, if I didn't have it and/or couldn't afford it. We need to get ourselves out of the Red.

Not just the bankers, smartass. It's 2/3 or more of society, rich, poor, and in-between.

$26 billion a year in foreign aid (including 20% of that to Israel alone) is certainly a hefty sum, but it pales in comparison to the domestic feeding trough.

I think everyone who is not a beneficiary of pork or a lobbyist agrees with it.

It's not 2/3 of society......more like 1/3. Our country and its people are never as bad as they are made out to be.

while we're at it can we trade with countries that don't like us? that would solve a lot of our problems. There's a reason why we're enemies with Iran but not China, if we traded with them and improved their economy I think they would be less willing to blow us up.

Uh, we traded with them right up until the moment they overran our embassy in Tehran.

 Right up until they overthrew their American-installed dictator.

Count the farmers who get paid not to plant. They get something for nothing.

Count the business owners who hire illegal labor. They get something for nothing.

Count the cash business owners who lie about cash receipts. They get something for nothing.

Count the spoiled college kids in California who protested last week and all the others who get free stuff but did not protest. They get something for nothing.

Count all the Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security recipients who have gotten dozens and maybe hundreds of times more than they ever put into the system. They get something for nothing.

Something for nothing: It's what's for dinner in the U.S.A.!

Sure it is. It's 100% of the 50% that call themselves democrats, and about 50% of the 50% that call themselves Republicans.

Nice theory, YT, but it hasn't quite solved our problem with China.

I was visiting a college in the lovely state of Connecticut today and happened to walk up behind two women and heard one of them telling the other how she was getting money from the government to pay her whole electric bill. She then laid out exactly how the other woman could lie about her finances and get the same deal. Then she told the woman how she took a buyout from her previous company, but said she could have gone out on disability instead and has regretted the decision ever since. The company actually asked her to come back to work, but she said no because it would ruin her free electricity and other benefits. She then laid out exactly how the woman could apply for disability and get on the government's aid programs.

There should be a pest control company that exterminates these type of human tics.

Nice example, Cluck - if I do something for you, I expect some compensation (unless it's charity, which I'm not addressing here) and I want to compensate you for what you do for me. But I'm one of those crazy, right leaning guys who wants to get paid when I perform some service. People like this want to get paid for sitting on their damned sofa with the thermostat at 76* bilking those of us who follow something resembling the golden rule out of our hard earned cash. I give heavily to charities - lots of them - but able bodied folks who are just plain lazy get no sympathy from me. People who need things (i.e. elderly, disabled, temporarily unemployed) I have no problem helping to support with my tax dollars. If you work the system for free crap all the time when you're clearly able to make a living, just excuse yourself from the gene pool.

For such an advocate of freedom, free trade, and free markets you really arent sometimes....anybody ever notice how we're on good terms with countries we trade with and not with countries we dont?

'Splain yourself?

For many reasons, including their currency policies and non-enforcement of intellectual proprty rights, our relationship with China is not one of equal partners engaging in "free trade" or "free enterprise." Our gamble in trading with China has been a calculated risk that may or may not be worth it in the end.

Do you actually think we're on good terms with China?

Do you think the North Korean thorn in our side could not exist without the active sponsorship of China?

Do you not understand that our problems with Iran could be resolved if China and Russia were on board?

And right now, accross America, there are companies perpetrating the exact same thing and yet somehow, they get a pass.

The entire system is fucked, rewarding sloth for individuals as well as corporations. So you can just as easily make the argument that you are stupid if you are not playing the game.
