They have passed their precious healthcare bill...another pork laden bill, with the key votes needed for passage bought by special favors, exceptions and outright payoffs. A $940 billion boondoggle that very likely may be the final nail in the coffin of thousands of small businesses hanging on by their fingernails.
I am now convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt that our system is irretreivably broken. We don't need an evolution, we need a REVolution. And it should start with Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and their crooked fucking minions.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone poll, taken Friday and Saturday nights, shows that 41% of likely voters favor the health care plan. Fifty-four percent (54%) are opposed. These figures have barely budged in recent months.
Another finding that has remained constant is that the intensity is stronger among those who oppose the plan. The latest findings include 26% who Strongly Favor the plan and 45% who Strongly Oppose it.
The partisan divide remains constant as well. Seventy-four percent (74%) of Democrats favor the plan, while 87% of Republicans are opposed. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 34% are in favor, and 59% are opposed.
Still, 50% of all voters say they’re less likely to vote this November to reelect a member of Congress who votes for the health care plan.
Say goodnight, you fucked up Donks. Your day in the sun is rapidly coming to an end.

It's not what I wanted, but I am relieved to know that I can keep my kids on our insurance for a few more years.
Should have passed single-payer.

Nah, but I don't give a shit about Rasmussen's poll and I don't think Obama or Democrats do either.
This healthcare debate has been over a year of absolute gutter politics (by both sides). There has been a ridiculous amount of misinformation spread (by both sides).
The public has been overwhelmingly for health care reform for the past decade.
When the dust settles and the public learns what the passage of the bill means I believe they will support it overwhelmingly. It's as big of a bill as Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid was. Those are overwhelmingly popular and I believe this healthcare bill will be as well.

Another trillion dollars over the next 10 years passed by a government with an existing national debt of $12 trillion (almost 100% of GDP) amd a current budget deficit of $1.6 trillion.
To put this in perspective, this is like you owing as unsecured debt (i.e., not including your mortgage) 100% of your annual salary, and then incurring a new unsecured obligation equal to another month's salary. (But not to worry -- in the long run this new obligation will actually save you money!).
In other words. it is irresponsible. Say what you want about the tea baggers, but most of them get this.
Cut the deficit by $2 trillion, then pass health care.

Yeah man.
They met at the Black Banjo Gathering at Appalachian State in 2005. I've played music with them a few times in Boone and at Clifftop. They're having a reunion of that this week in Boone... I wish I would be able to be there.
And I'll be seeing the Chocolate Drops in Telluride this Summer.

Hopefully this bankrupts our country and most of the politicians that voted for are buried.

You don't care about Rassmussens because it says something you can't come to grips with. And I'm tickled PINK the Donks don't care about it either. They can blindly stumble down their path of wet-dreams and see where that gets them in November. They have, in all likelihood, finally bankrupted this country.
And if what you say in your last paragraph is true, then we truly ARE fucked. The entitlement mentality, the feeling that healthcare is a RIGHT, is like a disease.

Yep the Dems just sold our country down the river.
Now everyone is still not covered, they will pay taxes for years before the government makes them buy healthcare at a rate that will be higher than what they are paying now.
Great plan.
I am just glad you guys are paying for it because I am not going to participate.
Im officially Amish.

We think we are such a rich nation we can have everything we want.
Meanwhile, within the next 10 years, we will no longer be the world's largest economy.
We cannot afford this. And if we want it, we have to start cutting somewhere else before we incur this obligation.

Amish pay taxes. You're going to need to move out of the country and renounce your citizenship if you're serious about it. I recommend Burundi for you.

I'm a Democrat and I suspect the party is going to go down in flames in November. And the president has sealed his fate as a one-termer. The anger out there over this bill is raw and palpable.
Perhaps something good will come out of this. The public is finally awakening to how reckless Washington has been spending our money. Maybe the voters are going to send the big spenders packing.

I'm just embarrassed that people don't realize that the ENTIRE GOP voted against this, along with 30-some-odd Dems. In other words, in a balanced Congress, this bill doesn't fly. That doesn't concern anyone on the left? That maybe, just maybe, you made the wrong choice here?
I don't claim to be a full-blown Conk, however, I really think the left shot themselves in the foot here. They took advantage of a terrible GWBush presidency, loaded up on left in the Congress and White House, and went to work. People already see through that. They didn't want this, and it's not helping anyone's cause to brag as if this was some sort of epic victory. You almost lost with an overwhelming majority, time to reconsider the balance and fairness of your bill.

Forget it TTL, the donkulites are all over in the corner, mutually stroking each other to climax over their great "victory".

The only thing I am embarrassed about is we are still the only Western country without universal healthcare.
