Can someone explain
Can someone explain why if people are dying every day because they don't have health care and if the health care bill will reduce the deficit why are we waiting until 2012, 2014 or later to enact most of the items? Just the deficit savings alone should be enough to implement it now.

If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism. Ronald Reagan, 1975.

It's so everyone who voted for this will be long gone and nowhere in sight to take responsibility for it.

Budget finagling.
Somethings will take time to set up like the exchanges... but, I think the main reason is because Obama promised to deliver a deficit neutral bill... and this helps the accounting.

Re: Can someone explain
But what about the 127 people a day that are dying because they don't have healthcare? Four more years of no health care means another 185,000 people die unnecessarily. I thought this was all about helping the uninsured.Skjellyfetti wrote:Budget finagling.

No, a pool is being set up now for uninsured people with medical problems. This will be done in a matter of months. Not four years. You need to educate yourself about the bill. Some things don't occur until 2020. Some until 2014.HI54UNI wrote: But what about the 127 people a day that are dying because they don't have healthcare? Here's a timeline of when things will go into effect:
http://www.newson6.com/Global/story.asp?S=12183312" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
First thing listed is helping the uninsured with serious medical problems
And lots not on that list went into effect immediately.

Jelly, thanks for straightening these conk niggers out.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Doesn't matter what they cost if you don't have access to themclenz wrote:2011-Imposes $2.3 billion annual fee on drugmakers, increasing over time.

These new policies are about giving relatively equal access
That's a good thing

Even if they get insurance to get cover a % of it, if the rates keep going up because drug companies are paying millions of dollars in fees, the rates for drugs go up, thus the % uncovered still goes up.
I get the point of it, but this seems like it will become a big issue in terms of cost, even if insured.
If I have insured access to drugs, but due to the drug companies paying millions in fees they triple the cost of drugs it doesn't do me any good if the cost is still going to be that high when I have to pay for them.
I would also think, maybe I'm wrong here I don't know and it wouldn't shock me if I was, that if companies know more people are going to be buying drugs, they can charge a little more and get a little more for the drugs because now everyone will get them.
