WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A new poll had good news and bad news for Republicans on Wednesday -- they lead Democrats in November congressional elections but would lose if a Tea Party candidate is included on the ballot.

The poll by Quinnipiac University said voters by 44 percent to 39 percent said they planned to vote for a Republican over a Democratic candidate in November, the latest sign of a rebirth of the Republican Party.

However, if there is a Tea Party candidate on the ballot, the Democrat would get 36 percent to 25 percent for the Republican and 15 percent to the Tea Party representative.

The poll was further evidence that the Tea Party movement largely draws from the Republican Party. It said only 13 percent of American voters say they are part of the movement.

...because if a supermajority can fight amongst themselves for a year and a half to barely approve an incomplete bill, just think what a super-DUPER-majority could accomplish.

(I'm an independent, just calling it like I see it.)

You honestly don't think that, should a third-party with liberal tendencies make a name for himself, that he wouldn't steal votes from the blue option in 2012, Obama or otherwise? This is a two way street. People aren't happy with Obama, and they're going to prove that at the elections. Hopefully we get someone in who isn't hellbent on running up our deficit, even if they are a Dem or a Third Party.

Sure you can. There haven't been any elections since it's gain in popularity. You really don't think they will have candidates in the fall?

Joe the plumber is still looking for a gig, maybe he and Sarah Palin could start a Plumber/Dumber ticket?
