Thousands of U.S. homes tainted by Chinese drywall should be gutted, according to new guidelines released Friday by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The guidelines say electrical wiring, outlets, circuit breakers, fire alarm systems, carbon monoxide alarms, fire sprinklers, gas pipes and drywall need to be removed.
"We want families to tear it all out and rebuild the interior of their homes, and they need to start this to get their lives started all over again," said Inez Tenenbaum, chairwoman of the commission, the federal agency charged with making sure consumer products are safe.

So, who pays for the inevitable Gypsum Wallboard Bailout Act of 2010?
<rhetorical question

We should have to pay for it.
Afterall we allowed our politicians to sell out our country. The laws they enact make it hard to compete in the world market. We don't manufacture quality products anymore and we allow cheap crap to be imported from china that further cuts our throats.
We deserve it

Ha ha! As I'm reading AG1's post, my eyes are drawn to the random ad underneath his post:

Good Lord... Inez Tennenbaum.... former SC Superintendant of Schools. She was a real winner. There's probably something to this, but any commission led by her is certain to be a buggerfvck.

Better yet, any home containing the album "chinese democracy" should be gutted.

You see, this is why I'm probably leaning toward Alpha for President. He goes from WTO protesting anarchist to Teabagger in one paragraph.

Boycott all Chinese "goods" from poisoned fish to bad drywall. The Reds will kill us from within. We don't have to worry about their crumbling ideology. You get what you don't pay for.
That said, I still believe in free trade!

Does that include the import of Chinese financing that continues to prop us this soon-to-be Banana Republic?

Because it's better than the alternative: high tariffs, controlled markets, less consumer choice. Just make sure we have truth-in-labeling.

But is trade with China really free? We don't have unfettered access to their markets, or ability to monitor quality/trademark infringements.
