LoL...how is this any different than raising the poor and middle class' income taxes? Other than the fact that this is going to be regressive? I thought the donks said only those evil greedy capitalist pigs making more than $250,000 would have to pay more taxes to the government?

I'm all for a consumption based tax.........as long it is accompanied by a reduction in income based tax.

With that being said, this looks on the surface like a bad idea, since we all know that neither side of the aisle will ever give up the power that they currently wield through the income tax code.
