In regards to the protests around the Arizona law, are these citizens CHEERING AND ENDORSING those who would enter our nation illegally thereby breaking the law? Why the "anything goes" mantra? Peace!

Do I as a Liberal loathe personal accountability you ask..?
Why yes I do (as a matter of fact) I can't stand the idea of personal accountability - nothing upsets me more than being held responsible for my actions and suffering the inevitable consequences... oh where can I go, what place can I settle down where I am not accountable, where people will just let me be free - yes free - to do whatever I want whenever I want however I want - just because I want..!!!
oh where is this place... Catamount man help me find this land of pure freedom and guiltless joy where abortion doctors run candy shops and soccer moms are senators and presidents are moslty (by all appearance) black where mean conservative talk show hosts are all censored or gagged where where Rush Limbaugh pumps gas and washes windows and Jimmy Carter is the Galactic Emperor..!!!

Although witty and quite humorous, your post actually makes little sense.
Maybe that was your intent, but I apparently do not have the skill to comprehend you.

I'm not sure the folks with the anti-immigrant hard-ons "get it". They save us countless billions of dollars every year. They do valuable jobs for below minimum wage that keep the cost of living down for the rest of us. Certain industry relies on large quantities of cheap labor, and would either collapse or their product would increase in price exponetially, and we all end up paying. Let's look at some examples:
Agriculture:Dairy, Poultry, Hogs, Produce, Truck crops, Hay
Construction: Concrete workers, Carpenters, Landscaping
The entire meat packing industry
Hotel service workers, esp house keeping and maintenance workers
Food service workers, both manufacturing and point of sale retail(wait staff, cooks, dish washers, etc)
All these industries among others rely on large quantities of cheap labor to remain profitable to ownership and for the finished product affordable to all us cheap ass consumers.
I was a big fan of the Bush guest worker program, or something similar, that resembles the following:
1)Register, we need to know who you are and where you are
2)Minimum wage laws do not apply to you
3)You pay income taxes, SS, medicare, employment taxes, etc etc etc
4)You get no services
5)No union protection
6)No labor laws apply to you
I'm very thankful that Pedro is willing to pick tomatos and cut up dead farm animals for low wages with no benefits. Thank-You Pedro!!!!!

Loathing your own country is just the lazy/easy, non-personal responsibility method of loathing yourself.

Hating everybody else on earth doesn't really work either...
Question: When is is okay to hold America accountable for it's behavior, when do we hold the light of truth up and examine ourselves... without being accused of hating America
(Just wondering)

Good post, OSBF, but you fail to make the distinction between anti-immigration and anti-ILLEGAL immigration. A huge majority of Americans, including me, are anti-ILLEGAL immigration. A much smaller group is actually anti-immigration, but it serves liberal and mainstream media partisan political purporses to obscure this fact and blur the distinction.

Thanks for making the case of every anti-union person in America.

Maybe, for some, but it's patriotic.
Loving your country too much , like you do, is also a species of laziness, closely related intellectual laziness, complacency and just plain giving up your individuality, like fucking communists or fascists.

but the big-picture point is that they're here, working hard at these jobs. if you essentially "evict" all the illegals the industries I cited and countless others will collapse under their own weight, and the cost of living for all of us will skyrocket. There have been countless studies on the subject, and almost all cite a large positive economic impact to our economy and society.
No way to solve this without causing widescale economic harm without some sort of amnesty. We don't have to like it, but it is what it is. Make immigration easier, keep the criminals and riff-raff out, but allow people in to seek gainful employment.

So we just let it continue? Sorry, but "good for business" is not reason enough to turn a blind eye to national sovereignty. And the reality, IMO, is that most Americans don't even care about deporting the current state law-abiding illegal immigrants currently working hard in our economy. They want the flow at the border stopped yesterday, they want a framework for the current illegals to start contributing taxes on the system they currently burden, they want them identified & registered so the criminal element can be deported ASAP & they want the non-criminal to make an effort to assimilate to our culture ie; learn english so we can communicate...

I agree. When a pipe busts in your house and its flooding, the first thing you do is cut off the water line, then you worry about bailing out the water that's in there.
