When Is A Waiting Period To Save Lives Unacceptable?

When it's for an abortion....
S.C. lawmakers advance abortion bill that requires wait time
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Women seeking an abortion in South Carolina would have to wait at least a day after getting an ultrasound or reviewing information on the procedure under a compromise approved Wednesday.
Supporters of extending the wait said they hope the extra time will lead to fewer abortions, with women deciding to either keep the baby or opt for adoption.
“No one knows how many babies will be saved if we extend the waiting period to 24 hours. All we know is that some mothers will decide to deliver their baby. That's enough for me and I'm happy that it was enough for the state Senate,” said Sen. Mike Fair, R-Greenville, noting it puts South Carolina in line with a majority of states with waiting periods.
Sooo...typically, the crowds supporting waiting periods to purchase handguns in an attempt to save lives are probably against this waitingf period...& the persons who would typically support blah blah blah.....

I don't own a handgun and am unlikely to have an abortion, but as a social moderate what's the problem? I guess they could open a drive through......

No problems with waiting periods on guns up here in Montana, but I know they really really suck in other places.

Why the urgency to kill a baby?

I have to go through a waiting period to buy a gun, even if someone leaves threatening voice mails on my phone. Women can go through a much shorter waiting period for something like an abortion. Groups like NARAL and PPFA are always claiming they want women to make informed decisions, so why not give them accurate information about the ethical implications of an abortion and not just the medical implications?
Of course, I know these POS organizations won't favor it because they are bankrolled by luncatic malthusian ƒ*cks, which is also why they don't lobby to make adoption cheaper and easier and why they don't help pregnant women who don't want abortions find families for their babies.

I agree with waiting periods for abortion so long as they provide an exception for situations in which the mother's health is in danger.
Even thought I think (still really trying to figure this one out) I'm pro-choice, I also think this is a decision that will effect the person for the rest of their life and thus its a decision that is best left to sleep on.
Waiting periods for gun purchases are also a good thing, IMO. The only person in a rush to get a gun is someone who is about to do something drastic. Any other purpose a gun serves can be fulfilled the next day or week or moth for that matter just as well.

speaking of waiting periods and things that can effect/ruin the rest of a person's life:
how come Vegas doesn't have the standard waiting period on marriages?

Or feels they need protection in a hurry.
I got no problem with a waiting period for abortions if there are waiting periods for guns....would rather there be neither, but if one then the other....

If you need protection in a hurry then you should probably call the cops.

I am not sure how calling the cops would get you a condom any faster than getting one yourself?

Once one lives in Iowa, they never leave the state. EVER. So unless you currently live in IOWA, which would defeat the purpose, you would never get an Iowegian to move in with you. Iowa is a very very special and magical place.
