Asheville, NC --

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Wednesday the city council expanded its smoking ban and beefed it up with a threat to fine offenders $50.

I can't stand ciggie smoke.
But I've never understood banning smoking outdoors (except in situations like stadiums, where people are packed close together).
Though I do think they should fine the damn smokers who throw their cigarrette butts all over the place.

This is pretty much what I came in to post.
Smokers get a bad rap... banning smoking in outdoor parks...
But, the ones that think it's ok to flick their cigarette butts wherever they want should be tortured to death.

I don't think it's anymore ridiculous to ban smoking in a public park on public land than it is to ban smoking in a restaurant or bar located on private property.....
