Everybody wants $2.50/gallon gas but no increases in drilling or refining capacity. Supply and demand, folks - either that or we have to pull a Lance Armstrong and start riding your bikes 20+ miles a day to work, grocery store, Home Depot, etc. I have a hard time carrying 2x4's in my car, much less on my Specialized bike.

That being said, BHO could make a real statement by beating down the oil companies to put in redundant safety measures so the BS happening off Louisiana is less likely to happen. BP should be ashamed of themselves for having no ready means to shut off oil flow in the event of a catastrophe. They cut corners, and it will decimate the fishing industry and wildlife in the Gulf coast states.

We do need more refineries. Maybe reopen some of the ones the Oil companies closed during the consolidations of the past 15 years.

Why is Obama no longer going to open up drilling? First he is against it, then for it, and now he is against it. He really should quit flip-flopping on so many issues.
