You can't make this shit up.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday urged Catholic leaders to "instruct" their parishioners to support immigration reforms, saying clerics should "play a very major role" in supporting Democratic policies.

"The cardinals, the archbishops, the bishops that come to me and say, 'We want you to pass immigration reform,' and I said, 'I want you to speak about it from the pulpit. I want you to instruct your' -- whatever the communication is," said Pelosi, who is Catholic, speaking at the Nation's Catholic Community conference sponsored by Trinity Washington University and the National Catholic Reporter.

"The people, some (who) oppose immigration reform, are sitting in those pews, and you have to tell them that this is a manifestation of our living the gospels," she said.

While it's not unusual for clergy to speak about politics from the pulpit, it is uncommon for a lawmaker to openly encourage them to preach a specific policy.
Let's encourage clergy to speak about politics from the pulpit, but Godfor-fucking-BID a bunch of old senior citizens get to pray before they consume a government sponsored meal.

Guess the concept of separation of church and state only can go so far, huh? :lol: :lol: :lol: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

Well, not about to defend this. I hate churches getting involved in politics.

Unless she is trying to prod Catholic churches to getting to involved and losing their tax exemptions... but, she isn't clever enough to do that... and she lacks the huevos to ever try to enforce that.

You're right. One of them better be made of Kryponite. This is some funny shit:

http://forums.comicbookresources.com/sh ... p?t=238792" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
All of you ignorants who knows nothing about metals, here is a basic information and pay attention to its details. Because Kryptonite is made of alien crystal (glass) and not metal, and if you attempt to bond it with any metals such a lead or copper commonly used in making bullets, it will not work. If you do, the crystal will separate from the metal lead and shatter to dust vaporizing at the exit point of the gun's barrel thus becomes ineffective to kill Superman from a distance. If you was to melt the Kryptonite and smolder it with the molten lead to prevent it from separation, then that would be a foolish mistake because now you have covered the Kryptonite materials and thus shielding radiation affect making it ineffective to kill Superman.
:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Wow. :shock: :ohno: :ohno:

I heard a little bit of this on the Dennis Miller radio show. She's a fuckhead but could she be taking the catholic church to task for not fullfilling its mission to defend immigrants? I'm not sure....

This especially since the church, now an arm of the state since the advent of faith-based funding bullshit, completely failed the poor by not taking a meaningful and active role in supporting health care reform. :nod:

Catholic church is a fucking joke.

agreed - It's not a politicians place to engage the church regarding the enforcement of Federal laws
This simply exposes the Federal Government to more involvement from Religious organizations which the Federal Govt' should have ZERO comment on and ZERO involvement with

Bad Nancy - Now go back to being asleep at the wheel :wtf:

Which would make it and the Democratic party a perfect match.
