60 Minutes last night

Anyone see the interview with the computer/electronics guy that was one of the last survivors to get off the burning/exploding Deepwater rig?

Said that chunks of the safety valve designed to prevent exactly this sort of incident were coming up out of the drill tube, the chunks were shown to a supervisor by one of the drill rig operators. In the quest for the almighty $$$ drilling continued.

BP is so fucked.

He's a computer/electronics guy and he was standing at the drill rig while the valve was coming apart? sounds like he needs to be fired.

If they're fucked the same way Exxon was fucked after Valdez, I'm sure they're relieved.

Yup. As long as they keep the Benjamins flowing to the scum suckers on both sides of the aisle, this'll be nothing more than a blip on the radar for them. :ohno:

I fear you may be right, but this one happened in our backyard, figuratively. Exxon Valdez was in an area most people could give two shits about.

We shall see... :coffee:

And if he had the lifejacket on, he's lucky it didn't de-nut him when he hit the water.
