Wouldn't have changed a thing, they would have lied and said everything would be under control shortly. Fukers would rather poison the ocean months than have to kill a well. Hope their investors lose their asses and BP spends every dime they have on lawyers before they go to prison.

I wouldn't have mattered who was in power up til' now because it has apparently been going on for a long time but the past presidents were lucky in that it didn't happen while they were there. Is this a bit of proof to anyone else that government should limit it's focus to the things like this are of national concern?

I ain't trying to start a shit storm and I agree with all of you on this thread and it is overwhelmingly the "libs" on here so far.

I know that when things like inspections that are of a local concern in a smaller community like Missoula they are done fairly well and I assume it's because there is not a great deal of money that can cause someone to look the other way.

I probably ain't making sense cuz I'm just scratchin' my head over this.

Not really. Rome would have survived much longer in one form or another as Rome had it not been for the various barbarian tribes that immigrated into Roman territory. It was those tribes that eventually sacked Rome and destroyed the last vestiges of anything that had previously been know as "Roman". And, the fall of the Roman Empire is probably one of the most studied and written about subjects in human history. There are hundreds upon hundreds of reasons the Roman Empire fell apart (and, it goes back way before the Visigoths actually sacked it). A liberal can cherry pick reasons to highlight his political beliefs and what he sees wrong with the country currently. A conservative can do the same thing. That's all that you're doing and it's weak as fuck.
