And it doesn't matter who is in power.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Great vid Skelly it gave me a lot more insight into what is going on.![]()
I agree with both you guys man this is so **** ridiculous to be this careless after an accident like this. Man it's irritating as **** that this **** ain't being handled in a manor that a disaster like this should be.
Every expert in any pertinent field and anyone from BP's magmt. should have been in a meeting with Obama by day 2 or 3 or this thing to mitigate this ****.
Wouldn't have changed a thing, they would have lied and said everything would be under control shortly. Fukers would rather poison the ocean months than have to kill a well. Hope their investors lose their asses and BP spends every dime they have on lawyers before they go to prison.Ursus A. I agree with point 4, without the condition precedent.houndawg wrote:Jesus.
1)Freeze BPs assets
2) Throw their board of directors in jial, or better yet, Gitmo,

4) If Obama won't push for 1,2, and 3, impeach his ass.
I wouldn't have mattered who was in power up til' now because it has apparently been going on for a long time but the past presidents were lucky in that it didn't happen while they were there. Is this a bit of proof to anyone else that government should limit it's focus to the things like this are of national concern?kalm wrote:And it doesn't matter who is in power.Ursus A. Regulatory capture.

I think you need to go to the library and check out a book on the fall of Rome.mainejeff wrote:Are you REALLY serious????CitadelGrad wrote:You're forgetting what really destroyed Rome. It was unchecked mass immigration by groups who had no desire to become Roman.
Are you saying that unchecked immigration from Mexico caused all of our ills.......or are you including people from everywhere????
And every book he checks out will have different theories on the fall of Rome.CitadelGrad wrote:

Not really. Rome would have survived much longer in one form or another as Rome had it not been for the various barbarian tribes that immigrated into Roman territory. It was those tribes that eventually sacked Rome and destroyed the last vestiges of anything that had previously been know as "Roman". Rome had a number of societal ills that contributed to its decline, but unchecked immigration was the proximate cause of its destruction.Skjellyfetti wrote:And every book he checks out will have different theories on the fall of Rome.CitadelGrad wrote:

Saying Rome fell because of "unchecked mass immigration" is a retarded oversimplification.
The barbarian tribes that sacked Rome didn't "immigrat[e] into Roman territory." Roman territory expanded through their territory (Gaul)... and Rome controlled the territory for 500 years or so before the Visigoths sacked it. The analogy to the US's current immigration problem just doesn't work.CitadelGrad wrote:Not really.
