The Obama administration is leading an effort within the International Whaling Commission to lift a 24-year international ban on commercial whaling for Japan, Norway and Iceland, the remaining three countries in the 88-member commission that still hunt whales.

The administration argues that the new deal will save thousands of whales over the next decade by stopping the three countries from illegally exploiting loopholes in the moratorium.

Kinda like Bush suggesting that we cut down trees to prevent forest fires...

What an aweful idea. If they're exploiting loopholes in the moratorium now, what makes him think they won't exploit loopholes in this "new deal?"

What do we even gain by leading this effort? I mean I don't care if they lead the way, but why us? Are we trying to make friends with Japan, Iceland, and Norway? Last time I checked they were all allies of ours.

Those Sea Sherpherd people are whacked. When I watch that show I find myself wishing somebody would put a torpedo into their twats or something. I loved it when they got that speedboat and it got crushed.

Then they say that ship ramming their speedboat was an "unprovoked" attack. Unprovoked? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

At the beginning of the Whale Wars show that nutball captain says something about our species being insane. That's just after he talked about how he looked into the eye of a whale and knew it felt pity for "us." Our species is insane? No, dude, YOU'RE insane. And if there was any doubt there's that thing about "Are you willing to give your life for the whales?"

Only a nut would ask that question. And only a BIGGER nut would answer "yes" to it.
