The Stock Market... watch this (here it comes)

Gentlemen,
May I suggest a few things rather quickly:
As you are all well aware (see recent Maxine Waters actions) the Obama administration might actually attempt to "correct" what should probably never even be spoken of, much less meddled with. Might I sincerely suggest that you pull basically all of your money out of the market over the next few weeks
convert it into cash and put it in a little 6 month 3 to 5 % CD (as much of it as you can get out of the market and into a cash deposit situation with a fixed rate)
Over the next 6 months the the Banks and institutions that control our federal Reserve system and Wall Street are going to Crash The Market fairly severely - so as to effect electoral change - once this has happened the market will be put back in place and allowed to recover
A few points:
1) a crashed market will insure we get some Republicans elected
2) Republicans will bring balance back (grid lock) which is essential
3) And Street reform and banking reform will be put on the back burner
Trust me on this... get your money out fairly soon and convert it into cash CD's
after 6 or 8 months you can start loading it back in and re-building

Thank me later... by election time the market will be at 780 (I'm taking wagers on any disbelievers)

If I shop a $500,000.00 6 month CD I'll get 5%

I just checked some Swiss Bank Jumbo's at 4.2%
Bank of America at 3.99%
So scratch the 5%

no matter, it's better than -40%

Yes he is. I was just talking to him on the phone in an unrelated manner and it turned to this topic quickly.
He'll be here to lay it out for ya shortly I would assume but he is serious about moving it.

But I thought capitalists were bad, and the profit motive by corporations and individuals was evil......

You can play it safe without jumping off the deep end and liquidating today though.
Its called a stop-loss. I put a floor under all of my investments yesterday to make sure I (1) lock in any gains I have and (2) prevent the big losses from occuring in stocks that I'm now in the loss column or slightly in the green.
Now, I can't use a stop-loss in my 401k, so I might actually move my money out of the Target Fund and into cash soon, but even if you invest in cash in your 401k you are getting an automatic return solely by virtue of the pre-tax nature of the dollars you put in (if you're company doesn't match like is the case with my employer) or the pre-tax beneift plus whatever company match you have (if you have a normal matching 401k).

OK, here's where Uncle Sam lets me put my 401(K) dollars:
http://www.tsp.gov/forms/comparison.pdf
So I need to go with G or F fund I take it? FWIW, batshit crazy Glenn Beck saved me tens of thousands of dollars in 2008 when he similarly spooked my ass and I switched all my stuff from the L2040 to the G fund for several months, completely avoiding that collapse. I've since switched it back to L2030, but I took a beating in May.

As did I. I made back everything I'd lost in 2008 through 4/30/10, but gave back almost 3% in May....

Not to mention the "cash" fund in my 401k is paying about 3.5% right now.

Seriously, what can I do with the 401k? It's with Fidelity Investment with a decent selection. Is there certain funds I should move the money too or key workds to avoid? Or am I just fokked since I can't cash out? Forgive my ignorance onthis subject....

What are you referring too? Is there certain funds I need to look to move my 401k to mitigate large fluctuation?

No one needs to worry about money. Obama will take care of everything.

So I looked at my 401K online. If I have understood this thread correctly, I should move to the Dreyfus Cash Managament Investor option?

I'm in the same boat as you, clueless. I set this thing up in 1998 when I was hired. I've changed somethings over the years, but not really as much as I think I should be.
I have a dozen or so options that I can split up my money. They range from low risk to high risk. This money market option is low and what I think what cleets is talking about/
