Obama had no choice but to accept his resignation...he violated the Uniformed Code of Military Justice...it was that or a court martial...McChrystal knew he had screwed the pooch with the interview and resigned...

Your total lack of understanding of the military/civilian relationship that has guided this country from the begining is showing...

Agreed.

MacArthur was a decent general (not a great one) and like MacArthur, McChrystal must go.

MacArthur had at least three separate "careers" as a general. I certainly agree that he was only "decent" at the time he was fired by Truman, but he also had moments and periods of brilliance. Overall, I rate his life performance as a lot better than "decent."
