The racist righ at it again. Limbaugh will say anything to get his name in the news that fat overrated hack. I'm sure Ann Coulter will add her two cents later.

NEW YORK - Rush Limbaugh had his own view of George Steinbrenner.

"That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires," the radio commentator said Tuesday on his show after the New York Yankees owner died at age 80. "He fired a bunch of white guys as managers left and right."

George Steinbrenner. Now, this is an example, my friends, of the kind of news that I'm going to impart here that will just infuriate liberals, it will ruin their day. George Steinbrenner, that cracker was a great capitalist, and he made many African-Americans who worked for him millionaires, as a lot of capitalists do. But he also, as a good capitalist, knew when to die. There is no death tax. George Steinbrenner's family this year will not have to cough up 55% of what they inherit and perhaps lose the New York Yankees. How sad it is we've come to this point in America? How much you want to bet, the liberals try to get around this, pass a special law or something to get the Yankee tax money.

Game, set, match, Limbaugh...again.

How does prefacing it with that make his statement any better? Isn't that like saying "with all due respect" and following it up with an insult?

It's called sarcasm, df.
I'm willing to bet Limbaugh prefaced his Steinbrenner comment around the infamous New Black Panther story, hence the term "Cracker" being used.

I can get down with sarcasm. Its pretty hard to guage sarcasm through text though which is probably why I still don't really see the sarcasm in his statement. But as you say, its out of context as well.

I'm no fan of rush, but i can respect his hustle. he's got his audience down and he's obviously a great entertainer. I just wish people wouldn't look to him as their political guiding light.

That obviously wasn't an insult of Steinbrenner. Very obviously. I can't believe anyone is even contending that it was.
