A housing issue: McCain not sure how many they own

WASHINGTON - Days after he cracked that being rich in the U.S. meant earning at least $5 million a year, Republican presidential candidate John McCain acknowledged that he wasn't sure how many houses he and his wealthy wife actually own.
I think — I'll have my staff get to you," McCain responded to a question posed by Politico, according to a story Thursday on the publication's Web site. "It's condominiums where — I'll have them get to you."
Later, the McCain campaign told Politico that McCain and his wife, Cindy, have at least four in three states, Arizona, California and Virginia. Newsweek recently estimated the two owned at least seven properties.
On the campaign trail, McCain doesn't refer to his wife's wealth, estimated by some at $100 million and based on her late father's Arizona beer distributorship. McCain's campaign didn't respond immediately to a request for comment Thursday.

He probably had to sign a prenup. He's not sure how many houses he and his wife own, and how many are owned just by her.

Do they own a lot more than others in a similar position? I'm not sure if I know why it matters but he may be concentrating on other issues right now. Seriously though why does this matter?

It doesn't, or at least it shouldn't. We know his wife is rich, she can afford buy a house or two without her husbands input. I guess they are not allowed to spend their money. He probably doesn't know how many houses they own because he is in Washington running the country.

Got it, and that's why I think all of this horse shit from the Dems & Repubs is just a bunch of stupid horse shit. My Grandma went into the hospital a few weeks ago and there were things about the finances that my Grandpa didn't know...because he worked and she had the things she took care of. If marriage is a partnership then there are things one may not have as much experience on as the one that is handling that end of the responsibilities. If I were married to a gal like Cindy then I damn sure would let her take the lead on the money and investment issues. It doesn't make my Grandpa a dumb ass nor does it make McCain a dumb ass.

Why is it important? Probably shouldn't be, and wouldn't be, if McCain's campaign had not already tried to paint Obama as an out-of-touch elitist, a cry that out-of-touch elitists like Limpballs regularly parrot.
Moral - don't sling mud that has a better chance of sticking to you than your target.

dback, I'm not talking about what dipshits talk about on the radio or what they try to feed as news. I've rarely seen anything come from YOU that wasn't of substance. You always have cogent points that can be read and taken into consideration because they are not of the tabloid bullshit variety. That is something I see PFL and UNH do all the time and I have never seen you go down that road. I really don't think in your heart that you think is any sort of an issue at all. I've listened to both sides on talk radio and they are exactly the same thing...they choose a side and then no matter what happens they either defend or attack. Does everyone have to choose a side and follow suit with this shit? I get good information FROM YOU on issues and the democratic side of things. Please sir, I beg of you to stay with your original gimmick of integrity and let some of the others take the mudslinging act for themselves as I don't want to get confused as to who I should laugh at for their views and who I should take seriously.
I thought Limpballs was funny though.

It's actually kinda cool that he does not worry about the small stuff and actually probably focuses on things pertaining to
a) Getting elected
b) Doing his job as a Senator
c) Doing Cindy
d) handling the press
I would be shocked if I knew a guy married to a chick with $100,000,000,000,0000000000000.0.000.00 and they didn't have a sh!t load of houses and properties..!!!

Ooooh, I missed some good ones while I ran out to pick up my Griz tickets. Anyway, that's what I was getting at dback...that is not your style and if you were baiting then...well...um...I apologize. And you are both correct though UNH & UAH have never been seen in the same place. I prefer a much classier gay bar than he does...We'll just never agree I guess.
Take that dbackjohnstonge!

I'm more concerned about the fact that he FORGOT he owns multiple houses, not that he owns them.....good for he and Cindy.......but it kind of plays up the age angle...."I own houses?.....anybody seen my walker?.......where did I lay my teeth down.....did I ever tell you about the time I was trapped in the POW........oh, where was I?"
.....you know, because anyone can leave a house lying around and forget about it.....

You're full of shit, and don't believe that. Working on the funny but...
What did you think when Obama said 57 states? Probably like I did...simple mistake from a guy worn out and getting a few things confused from the long campaign trail. Both sides picking on stupid shit that doesn't mean anything. If he is having memory problems then it should be a little more noticeable with other issues I suppose. He may not know for sure what the fathers estate willed to Cindy or may not pay a lot of attention to it...doesn't mean shit unless I see a pattern of him forgetting important things that have something to do with his service in office and how he will serve if he is President.

Yeah....I'd be real concerned if he didn't know the names of coutries (Czechoslovakia) or where we are fighting a war (Al Quaida in Irq...not Al Quaida in Iran).........yeah, you're right.....

No Appa, you've convinced me...it's a huge deal and I will pay the appropriate amount of attention to these gaffes by the candidates from now on. These issues should be the centerpiece of the meal we're cooking. Why wasn't the Ron Paul age issue a problem with you? I heard him make errors many times and look a fool at times in vids I've seen of him but in my mind he was the best candidate out there due to the primary message I was getting from him. I should have paid more attention to the gaffes and I would have seen the true man behind what he was trying to put forth. Thanks for the wake up call.

First of all, I hope your Grandmother is okay. Secondly, I think you are spot on about the partnership and that is probalby the norm in most marriages.
