I'm sure Obama wants her to run. He's a shoo-in if she is the opposition. The GOP has to have someone better than Palin. Laura Bush would be a better candidate.

We both know that polls don't mean squat at this point. If Palin is the GOP nominee Obama will win.

It's going to be really hard to get Obama out of office. Things will have to continue to suck for 2 more years (which they might), and even then his base will still vote for him in large numbers. The GOP needs a candidate that the whole party can unite behind and I don't think Palin is that candidate.

CNN: Obama 55 Palin 42
Clarus Research group: Obama 52 Palin 34
Harris: Obama 52 Palin 35
FOX: Obama 55 Palin 31

Wow. Those numbers look a little weird, UNH. Now, I'm not saying you're whacked for using them, though I would like to know when they were taken and maybe a bit about their sampling.

I find it HIGHLY weird that uber-liberal CNN would give Palin better numbers than arch-conservative Fox. I don't know a thing about the bias (if any) in the other groups you cited.

i glanced through this link quickly and grabbed what i could find as the most recent numbers from each. Its possible there are more recent numbers from them that arent posted there though.

FWIW the Fox number is from January and the CNN from April which could explain the smaller margin in the CNN poll.

As for Obama in 2012, start getting used to hearing the acronym V.A.T. being thrown around - if it sticks to him you could run anyone against him and they'll win...

Plus he's another fake conservative politician. He spews all the stuff about being against earmarks but still inserts earmarks into bills. He votes against them so he can claim he is against them but his district still gets the earmarks because he knows the overall bill will pass.

Most republican politicians are fake conservatives. They talk about cutting spending, being against earmarks, blah, blah, blah, but when it comes time to vote they are at the trough just like the Dems.

I have no love for Obama, but Palin's a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Hopefully a reasonable fiscal conservative will emerge that could challenge him, but I'm thinking Obama is likely a two termer in spite of himself.
