In the Georgia gubernatorial Republican Primary John Oxendine had a double-digit lead over Handel and in a very short time Handel takes the lead and wins the most votes in the primary and is now the favorite in the runoff. Amazing what Palin can do despite the media blitzkrieg of hate and venom she gets spewed at her.

People can rightly criticize Palin for not being terribly bright (although truthfully, it's not as if intelligence has ever been a pre-requisite to be a politician, on the contrary, it tends to shift someone away from politics) and I think she'd be a disaster of a Presidential candidate herself, but there's no denying that she is incredibly influential in giving candidates significant postitive boosts whenever she gives an endorsement.

Republicans and conservatives love her. No doubt about it. I'm not the least bit surprised she could shift the outcome of a Republican primary. Hopefully this bodes well for her primary run in 2012.

She couldn't poll worse among independents if she tried. She will not win a general election.

Agreed - the short list for conservative Prez candidates is exceptionally short, which is why Palin is even being given any attention at all IMO. Obama is killing us, but Palin is just as scary as an alternative.

I don't think she has any plans for running for Pres in 2012 - heck, she's turning into a kingmaker right now in the Republican party in a year where they expect (and will probably get) huge wins in the Congressional elections. Why screw that up with a Presidential run against an incumbent President (assuming there isn't a challenger to him in his own primaries)?

Presidents almost always take a pay cut. After they're done...... they bathe in cash.

She's making gobs of cash now... mainly from speaking fees... but, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton's, George H. W. Bush's speaking fees are on another planet relatively. She'd make more money in the long run.

I'm not sure Palin's ability to move GOP voter's is a good thing for the GOP.
