The Obama administration is exploring a broad range of options that potentially could let thousands of illegal immigrants remain in the United States legally or apply for permanent residency if Congress continues to stall on passage of comprehensive immigration reform, according to an internal government memo obtained by The Arizona Republic.
Un-fucking-believable.

Once again, "holier-than-thou" Obama thinks HE knows whats best, despite overwhelming support for the OPPOSITE stance.

Two-thirds of Americans don't want to make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens, even though a slight majority is sympathetic towards their plight, according to a new poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Sunday indicates that 66 percent of Americans say the U.S. should not make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens, with 33 percent disagreeing.

Forty-two percent of Democrats questioned say the path to citizenship for illegal immigrants should be made easier. That number drops to 33 percent for independents and 16 percent for Republican respondents.

"Virtually all major subgroups oppose making it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens, at least in the abstract," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.
The arrogance of this dipshit never ceases to amaze me.

Honest to God, I have reached the point where I can not WAIT until November.

And to add insult to injury, check THIS shit out:

•A clear majority of people in Mexico, 56 percent, thought giving legal status to illegal immigrants in the United States would make it more likely that people they know would go to the United States illegally. Just 17 percent thought it would make Mexicans less likely to go illegally. The rest were unsure or thought it would make no difference.

•Of Mexicans with a member of their immediate household in the United States, 65 percent said a legalization program would make people they know more likely to go to America illegally.
Just fucking beautiful. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

AZ, your poll and what Obama's considering are two different things.
potentially could let thousands of illegal immigrants remain in the United States legally or apply for permanent residency
Two-thirds of Americans don't want to make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens, even though a slight majority is sympathetic towards their plight, according to a new poll.
he's not considering giving them all citizenship.

SK, being an LPR is the first step to citizenship. It is the first step to automatic naturalization.

In fact, no immigrant becomes a citizen first. They ALWAYS become LPRs, and then citz later.

I can see how the Obama Administration might use semantics to make it somehow more palatable for the gullible (like you), but they are, in fact, talking about what is de-facto citizenship. PLUS, once they are LPRs, they can immediately begin petitioning for their family members. For every one that is suddenly legal, you suddenly give 20 more (who are not already in the US) the ability to walktz right on in, legally. So basically, take one illegal and give him amnesty and you have just opened a floodgate that would not otherwise have been open.

If The Chosen one grants amnesty for all of these illegals, is that the only way he gets elected to another term? With the illegal voters voting for their new hero might be the only way. Good move Obama. :thumb:

I see both sides of this issue, and am more likely to be in favor of it provided the illegals have to start paying taxes once they're legal.

Most illegals are already paying taxes in one form or another...including those with stolen identities to get Social Security numbers...

So, they have now committed at least two crimes, and we want to give them a free route to citizenship???
