Federally-backed program aims to help outsourcers in South A

Post by coastal89 »

Despite President Obama's pledge to retain more hi-tech jobs in the U.S., a federal agency run by a hand-picked Obama appointee has launched a $36 million program to train workers, including 3,000 specialists in IT and related functions, in South Asia.

USAID is also partnering with Sri Lankan companies in other industries, including construction and garment manufacturing, to help create 10,000 new jobs in the country, which is still recovering from a 30-year civil war that ended in 2009.

Good thing there aren't any unemployed IT people in the U.S.A.

If we don't help those poor people they may become suicide bombers and blow us up one day. Poverty is the root of all violence

It's starting to look like the Obama plan is to make Americans so poor that they'll become violent.

I posted the same link in Z's "Where have the stimulus jobs gone" thread.

This is non-partisan as the Jack Abrmoff conks were doing similar things in the Marianas Island's a few years back. It's simply more proof positive of the corporatocracy.

To tell the truth, this is what foreign aid should look like. We shouldn't be forking over money that never shows any progress in the third world.

However, now aint' the time.

There's one huge difference, The Marianas are a US territory with 47% of the residents being US citizens while SE Asia is none of that.

There's absolutely no difference when it comes to decent paying, sustainable jobs for U.S. workers. :coffee:
