Miller 52%
Murkowski 48%

50% reporting....

This would be huge. It would instantly make Alaska in the general election a tossup. Also would be a big victory Sarah Palin... and boy after a rough August she needs a big victory.

I think the real story here is how close the election up there is. If Palin had continuing star power in her home state, her guy would be way ahead. Palin has had an exceptionally mediocre record in backing candidates this year. Her political ship has sailed. :coffee:

I keep thinking about Gore losing his own home state in 2000. He had nobody to blame but himself.

Are you high this a.m.? I'm as critical of Palin as the next guy, but Miller was a HUGE underdog in this race. Palin has brought him to relevance, if not victory. I'd say her "star power" is still in full effect (rightly or wrongly).

98% reporting and Miller is up by about 2,000 votes out of about 100,000 total votes.

CNN reporting that Sen. Murkowski will concede tonight. This is a big blow for the GOP as it gives democrats a great shot at controlling for Alaskan Senate seats for the first time ever.

Don't you have some insanely generationally wealthy, in-bred, politically entrenched family that was built on the backs of the poor to praise, admire, and oogle over? You know, the family that routinely started wars, annihilated people based upon race, and considered people to be cannon fodder so that they could have more stylish clothing, money and toys.

No, not any Republicans. The Royal family.

You love the pageantry and opulence of those folks. But if they were American, other than the Kennedy's...America's royal family, you'd condemn their vanity and lifestyle.

It's a blow to the establishment. :thumb:

Great shot? McAdams trails Miller by 8 points in the latest poll. Better shot is more accurate.

Don't get your hopes up. Alaska will not send a Dem to the Senate, especially this year.

Palin's star power didn't have as much to do with it as anti-incumbent fever.

If you're a righty, vote Libertarian. If you're a lefty, vote Green. :thumb:

I stand corrected... When Alaska first became a state, both US Senators were Democrats.
