Record Cash Receipts for California Agriculture

According to Fox News and T-man, California Agriculture was dying, killed by environmentalists who had the audacity to suggest that the government-subsidized corporate farmers SHARE some water with the rest of us.

Well, the numbers are out, and guess what??

The Golden State’s agricultural earnings have reached historic highs during the so-called three-year drought.

According to U.S. Department of Agriculture, (USDA), California’s cash receipts from crop and livestock sales, in billions of dollars, are as follows: 2009- $34.841; 2008- $38.407; 2007- $36.386; 2006- $31.426; 2005 - $32.4; 2004- $30.939; 2003- $28.232; 2002- $26.544; 2001 - $26.206; and 2000- $25.185.

California’s Governor Schwarzenegger, state water officials, 60 Minutes’ Leslie Stahl, and Fox Cable TV host Sean Hannity, were among those espousing their “Dust Bowl” drought rhetoric for the past three years, depicting images or fallow fields, orchards being ripped out and projections of the state’s agricultural industry going under. It appears their doomsday predictions were all wet.

2009 is down because milk prices plummited nationwide - nothing CA specific

Milk prices received by producers continued to fall from $18.05 in 2007 to $16.82 in 2008 to $11.49 per hundred pounds of milk sold in 2009. California produced 18.6 percent of the nation’s milk supply last year. The volatile beginning to 2009 dairy pricing had a negative impact on both dairy income and total farm revenues in 2009. Milk prices remained low for the first 7 months before beginning to recover.”

Just like Conks, Jon, to lie and scare people into voting for their shit policies. They were probably telling voters that Obama was going to be handing out ration cards for lettuce and tomatoes.

Fail.

We're fvcking up the environment and you know it, Monsignor Hen. Al Gore needs to be on Rushmore, too, with Janet Reno, Obama and Hillary Clinton.

I wanna hear what the Hen family is doing that's green. You probably don't even recycle.

Correct. It was a fail. Gore has been exposed for the manipulative hypocrite he is. Glad we agree on that one. :thumb:

Gore is fvckin' prophet and the keep of the truth about our errant ways.

When the Henettes are wearing breathing masks at their outdoor weddings in 20 years, don't come crying to Cap'n Cat. Rather, bow down and kiss the ground on which Al Gore walked.

Great - don't recycle your aluminum - only helps the Jamaicans and Australians, while increasing your energy costs.
Don't recycle plastics - gotta keep those Saudi princes happy!!

Alpha - the true American Patriot, fucking himself and his progeny over to make what he thinks is a point...

8-) Record earnings, and they didn't even include their best-selling crop.

I wondered about that myself. I was thinking that the record earnings might be because of "medical" marijuana sales.
