The right shoulder is still forming.

It's amazing that you look at data from one point in time and feel assured that the economy is in recovery. Did you happen to look at today's Treasury auction? Why didn't you comment a couple of weeks ago when that 2.5% GDP growth rate was revised to about 1%? What happened to recovery summer? Oh right, autumn doesn't officially begin until a couple of weeks from now. There's still time for a recovery.

Keep drinking that Kool-Aid, you stupid fuck.

Goddamn. You are either stupid as hell or stubborn as hell. You've been saying the fucking "right shoulder is forming" since mid July.

July 13:

Here all all of CitadelGrad's claims of a "right shoulder" on a chart of the S&P 500:

Head and Shoulders patter:

Either your previous "right shoulders" are now "left shoulders", a massive "right shoulder" has been forming for several months now, or you are completely full of shit. Which is it?

I know which way I'm leaning. :coffee:

Obama sympathizers can spin all they want, but what people are seeing and experiencing are not what the Cap'n is claiming.

Yep. Things are pretty damn rosy. Read 'em 'n weep.

"One potentially big caveat about the jobs data is distortion caused by the Labor Day holiday. California and Virginia supplied estimates instead of actual data, while the federal government estimated the claims of seven other states.

Yet even with the larger-than-expected drop, claims are no lower than they were at the end of 2009. The number of new filings each week has hovered around 450,000 the entire year."

The right shoulder has been forming since June. The H&S pattern began in January. Maybe you aren't using the right parameter on your chart. Maybe you don't know how to read a chart. Maybe it's both.

What good does it do to look at a long-term pattern using daily intervals? Not much.

Ah, gotcha. So it's on it's 3rd right shoulder?

It also looks like the S&P dropped below the support on July 2nd and started forming a 2nd shoulder. Why didn't the market collapse after it dropped below support? Why has it increased? Shouldn't the multiple shoulders make it invalid?

Thanks for posting that, though. But, I think the S&P will be over 1200 (the head) long before the next collapse.

Guilty as charged. I'd post a longer response, but I'm on my way to the country club. My black caddy doesn't like it when I'm late coming out of the men's grill.

No, goddammit. Do you even have the slightest clue what you are looking at?
It also looks like the S&P dropped below the support on July 2nd and started forming a 2nd shoulder.
It didn't drop below support. It dropped below the February low.
Why didn't the market collapse after it dropped below support?
It didn't drop below support. Anyway, not every move below a support level signals a "collapse", especially on declining volume.
Why has it increased?
Do you mean over the last two weeks? Why not ask why it declined in the previous three weeks? It's foolish to get wrapped up in short-term fluctuations. The real message is in the trend.
Shouldn't the multiple shoulders make it invalid?
There are no multiple shoulders.
Thanks for posting that, though. But, I think the S&P will be over 1200 (the head) long before the next collapse.
You mean you are guessing/hoping that will happen.

Is your caddy's name Porterhouse? Did you get him to get rid of the wax buildup on your shoes?

First, you're incapable of a longer response and, second, you were gonna stiff him on his tip, anyway, so why care?

Probably because of all the jobs he created for Republicans last Tuesday.

You do realize that quantitative easing is raising the prospect of inflation and propping up equity prices, don't you? Why do you think the S&P 500 broke though that level on the day that QEII was announced? P/E ratios are too high. At the same time, interest rates are artificially low.
